Today is the National Ride of Silence — a day where people across the nation gather to honor the many cyclists who have been injured or killed by road violence. Every life lost is one too many, and this past year of data continues the alarming trend of yet another new record-breaking total of bicyclist deaths: 1,166 lives lost in 2024. That's three people per day killed in the last year while riding their bikes — not even counting the innumerable crash survivors who face life-altering injuries and yet rarely receive the justice they deserve. It shouldn’t take record-setting numbers of lives lost for decision-makers to act — but it can be the catalyst for all of us to demand change. If you’d like to take a closer look at the numbers or learn more about the price we pay for unsafe streets, visit our blog: https://lnkd.in/eWCcSHfc
