Our outside voices are louder together. Last week, LifeStraw was proud to join over 80 outdoor industry leaders at the Outdoor Industry Association's Capitol Summit to advocate for the places and policies that matter most. We spoke with members of Congress about: - The essential role public lands play in the health, economy, and identity of our nation, - The real and rising threat that tariffs pose to the future of small and mid-sized outdoor brands, - And how access to nature is a right, not a privilege. At LifeStraw, our work is rooted in equity, access, and sustainability. Whether it's ensuring safe drinking water for underserved communities or protecting the ecosystems we all depend on, we know that advocacy is an extension of our impact. We’re grateful to OIA for convening this critical conversation - and we’re committed to continuing the work.

We believe safe water is a human right. 1 purchase = 1 year of safe water for a child. B Corp + Climate Neutral
About us
At LifeStraw our mission is simple, we believe everyone deserves equitable access to safe drinking water. We design beautiful, simple, and functional products that provide the highest protection from unsafe water, no matter where they live or where they source their water. We also take our responsibility to people and planet seriously. For every product sold, a child in need receives access to safe water for an entire year. We have been partners in the fight for the eradication of Guinea worm for 25 years, and we actively respond to emergencies across the globe. We are Climate Neutral Certified and from product to packaging, we measure and minimize our environmental impact. We strive to support underrepresented communities through our actions, our products, our marketing, and our communications. We live, work, and create with impact in mind. We fight for good and always err on the side of action.

This Earth Day, we’re reflecting on how everyday choices—like the water bottle you refill instead of buying plastic—can create a healthier world. #ourpowerourplanet Here’s how we showed up in 2024 to protect people and the planet: 💧 We measured and offset 100% of our greenhouse gas emissions across every part of our business, from materials to manufacturing. 📦 We eliminated plastic from all new packaging and are working to remove it from existing products too. 🌊 We saved over 375,000 gallons of water by reusing lab water and repurposing wastewater to cool our factory. 🌍 We supported community-led climate projects in Peru and Zambia that protect forests and improve access to safe water. We’re proud of the progress, but we know the work isn’t done. A healthier planet means stronger communities, and we’re committed to doing our part every day.

Periods should never pause a girl’s potential. But for millions of girls in Kenya, lack of access to period products means missing school and falling behind, suffering from serious health problems, and being victimized by predatory men. That’s why we created SafiCycle, our menstrual health program that provides reusable period underwear and education to help girls stay in school. At LifeStraw, we believe safe water is just the start. Education, dignity, and health are all connected—and period equity is essential. Join us this Women’s History Month in advancing period equity: $15 gives one girl one year of dignity—and the chance to stay in school. Today is World Water Day—a global reminder of how essential freshwater is and how access to it is still unequal. At LifeStraw, we believe safe water is a human right. Through our Give Back program, every product you purchase helps provide a year of safe water to a child in need. To date, we’ve reached over 11 million kids—and we’re not stopping there. Around the world, many communities face daily challenges tied to water scarcity, pollution, and climate change. These issues don’t exist in isolation—they ripple across food, energy, education, and health. People in the most climate-affected regions often spend hours each day collecting water, sometimes in unsafe conditions. On this World Water Day, we stand in solidarity with communities pushing for sustainable water systems, equity, and a future where everyone can thrive.

From the labs where our products are tested, to the field teams delivering safe water and health programs, to the leadership shaping our mission—women are at the heart of what we do here at LifeStraw. Whether innovating for safer water, driving sustainability, or launching initiatives like SafiCycle to expand menstrual health access, these women are accelerating action every day. Their dedication fuels our impact, and we’re incredibly proud to call them part of the LifeStraw family. To the women of LifeStraw—thank you for your leadership, your passion, and your commitment to making the world better. 💙 #IWD2025

Earlier this week, the LifeStraw team partnered with the United Way of Central Maryland to help kick off Read Across America. Our team spread out across Baltimore City, reading books to students at Curtis Bay, Commodore John Rodgers, and Bay Brook elementary schools. We read books with a "100" theme to celebrate the United Way's 100 years of service, including "100 Things That Make Me Happy," and "I Want 100 Dogs." Read Across America is a week-long celebration of reading that takes place every March, beginning on Dr. Seuss's birthday. The celebration was created by the National Education Association to encourage reading in children and young adults.

Last week, we had the opportunity to join JAM Collective at the Outdoor Market Alliance Media Show in Colorado, where we connected with local and national journalists to share a first look at what’s coming from LifeStraw in 2025. From exciting new innovations to meaningful conversations about access to safe water, we loved engaging with the media and industry peers who stopped by. Thank you to everyone who took the time to chat with us!

This Valentines Day, LifeStraw staff from the Baltimore office spent our afternoon volunteering with Living Classrooms Foundation an organization celebrating 40 years of creating access to equitable education, workforce development, health and wellness, and community safety opportunities in Baltimore. Our team helped Living Classrooms repaint a wall in their music education and recording studio, where youth get opportunities to connect with volunteer artists with expertise in the creative field of their interest, including singing, songwriting, playing instruments, and producing instrumental beats. We also spent time cleaning and organizing two athletics closets which stores the athletic equipment used by the 100 students that access the facility daily.

Big strides, but the fight isn’t over. We just got the latest Guinea Worm Wrap-Up from The Carter Center highlighting both progress and persistent challenges in the race to eradicate Guinea worm disease. The good news: Human cases are at historic lows. South Sudan reported only six cases in 2024, Chad just five, and Ethiopia, Angola, Mali, Cameroon, and Sudan are making critical advances in surveillance and intervention. The challenge: Animal infections—particularly in dogs and small felines—remain a key transmission factor. Community-based education, water source protection, and behavioral interventions continue to be essential. At LifeStraw, we are steadfast in our commitment to supporting Guinea worm eradication through our long-standing partnership with The Carter Center. We’ve spent years ensuring that communities have access to safe drinking water, and we remain dedicated to eliminating this disease in every last country. We are close—but close is not enough. Eradication is the only acceptable finish line. 💧 Join us in celebrating progress, raising awareness, and pushing forward until Guinea worm is gone for good. https://lnkd.in/ebzH-_U7
