#Loudoun County has received an award for Project Management Excellence from the Virginia Department of Transportation for the Northstar Boulevard – Evergreen Mills Road to Route 50 project. The award was presented September 17, 2025, at the annual VDOT Local Program Workshop. James Blair and Kristen E. of the Loudoun County Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure accepted the award on behalf of Loudoun County. Northstar Boulevard is part of the North/South Corridor of Statewide Significance as designated by VDOT, addressing congestion and mobility on parallel north/south routes between I-95 and Dulles International Airport and connecting travelers to activity centers in Loudoun County and beyond. The completed project included a new four-lane, median-divided segment of Northstar Boulevard from Evergreen Mills Road to Route 50; a 10-foot-wide shared use path on both sides of the roadway; and a new traffic signal at the intersection of Northstar Boulevard and Evergreen Mills Road as well as signal modifications at Route 50.
