Yesterday, the Whiteville Garden Club presented a $10,000 donation to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in support of Phase 2 of the Butterfly Garden at the Angel House Hospice Care Center in Whiteville. The project, designed by LifeCare teammate Jason Hicks, will expand the garden with more flowers, greenery, and a gazebo for families and visitors to enjoy. 🌿 We’re so grateful to the Garden Club for their generosity and continued care in helping create a peaceful space for comfort and reflection. 💡 A Gift of Comfort and Light! Nicole Weller of Leland recently donated small LED trees for each patient room at the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick in memory of her mother, who was cared for here. “My mom had one in her room when she was here. She enjoyed it and it brought us all some comfort,” Nicole shared. Each tree carries the inscription: “May soft lights comfort you along the way. The Rosemarie Dorthe Family.” Nicole is pictured with Anne Hewett, Senior Fundraising Executive for Lower Cape Fear LifeCare. 🎵 Music has a unique way of bringing comfort, sparking memories, and creating moments of peace. Recently, music therapy volunteer Michele shared her gift of music at our Brunswick County care center. As she played, a lifelong friend of a patient reflected on how much music had always meant to her loved one, who once served as a church pianist for many years. Moments like these show how the compassion, time, and talents of our amazing volunteers bring light to difficult times. LifeCare Memory Partners is growing in a powerful way. With a $5.1 million grant from The Endowment, we will expand dementia diagnostic services, create more pathways to respite for caregivers, and reach families who have long faced barriers to care. Alzheimer’s and related dementias are among the most pressing health challenges of our time. This investment is a game changer for New Hanover County, strengthening the spectrum of care we provide and giving both patients and caregivers the support they need to face dementia with dignity. 🎨🍷 Last weekend, the Arts and Carafes Club in the Del Webb Community at Riverlights hosted their annual Art & Wine Show, and once again chose to support Lower Cape Fear LifeCare through their fundraising. The club donated proceeds from T-shirt sales, along with a generous contribution from their own account. We’re so grateful for their ongoing support!
