Our South Texas (Seguin) team is proud to have broken ground on Navarro South Elementary School, a 90,000 SF campus that will serve 700 students in grades 2–5. This thoughtfully designed school will include classrooms, administrative spaces, a gym, library, cafeteria, and full mechanical and electrical systems to support 21st-century learning. Site improvements will also enhance traffic management during student pick-up and drop-off. This past week I had the opportunity of returning to my alma mater, University of Oregon, College of Design, for the annual career fair. I had the chance to support current students, reconnect with faculty, and represent LPA, Inc.. My colleagues and I had the honor of participating in the Professional Context course's professional panel, where we were able to answer student's burning questions about the industry. Always inspiring to see the next generation of designers and to give back to the community and event that played such a big role in my own journey. Proud moment for our team. Last night, Community HousingWorks and Streamline Development Group were selected to redevelop the Revere Center in Linda Vista into workforce housing for SDUSD educators and staff. Huge credit to San Diego Unified School District for stepping into new territory and showing what’s possible when a public agency is willing to lead. This effort doesn’t just address housing locally — it sets a precedent that other districts across the region and state can learn from. This project delivers housing at a scale that meets the needs of the district's teachers and staff, generates long-term revenue for the district, and respects the Linda Vista Community Plan and Tecolote Canyon. Grateful to the SDUSD Board and staff, our partners LPA, Inc., HIGHLAND PM LLC, and the community voices who engaged early. Roland Toscano, Superintendent of San Antonio’s East Central Independent School District, loves watching how parents react when they drop their kids at Honor Elementary for the first time 🏫 “They’re surprised by how beautiful the school is,” Toscano says. “They like how it feels, how it looks and how accessible it is.” They often comment on the sunny spaces and easy flow within the campus. With enrollments projected to double by decade’s end, the district is creating a prototype for future campuses with a new pre-K–5 campus that provides flexibility, outdoor learning environments and a focus on early childhood. From concept to installation, every detail was designed with purpose. We partnered with Glaukos Corporation and LPA, Inc. to design and build a cohesive suite of identity graphics, wayfinding signage, identity signage, and window and wall graphics—creating a clear, intuitive environment that reflects their leadership in ophthalmic medical technology. For a generation of kids growing up in Longview, Texas, the Broughton Recreation Center was a beloved part of their youth. But when the City of Longview proposed renovating the aging facility, many in the traditionally underserved neighborhood were wary, skeptical that their viewpoints would be heard. Working with community leaders, LPA designers hosted workshops and gave neighbors access to every step of the process.
