At Luminary Hospice, we believe in the power of bright moments to bring comfort and joy, helping our patients live fully in every season of life. When we asked our patient, Beverly Hevel, what would bring her joy, she didn’t hesitate—she wanted to snuggle with a bunny! Beverly raised four sons who had bunnies growing up, and this simple wish brought her back to cherished memories of raising her family. Bev, who has endured the heartbreaking loss of her husband, two of her sons, and a grandchild, lit up with warmth and laughter as she held Clover the bunny. She even lovingly teased her son about which of the boys had been better bunny caretakers. In that moment, Bev and Clover became instant friends. At Luminary Hospice, it’s an honor to create these bright moments—because sometimes, the smallest joys bring the greatest comfort.

In hospice care, spirituality can mean different things to different people. For some, it’s rooted in religious beliefs, while for others it may be found in nature, personal reflection, or meaningful connections with loved ones. Spirituality offers comfort, peace, and a sense of purpose in many forms. At Luminary Hospice, we honor each person’s unique path and are here to support their journey in whatever way brings them comfort. #SpiritualCare #HospiceSupport #ComfortAndConnection

Open, honest communication with your hospice care team can make all the difference in ensuring comfort and quality care for your loved one. Here are a few ways to start conversations and share concerns effectively: 1. Start with Simple Updates: Share any recent changes or concerns with, “I’ve noticed…” or “Can we talk about...” 2. Express Your Needs: Let the team know how they can best support you and your loved one. Try, “Is there any extra support we can consider?” 3. Ask for Clarification: If you have questions, ask freely! Say, “Can you help me understand…” At Luminary Hospice, we’re here to listen and support you every step of the way. Your insights and questions are always valued. #HospiceSupport #FamilyCare #CommunicationMatters

Hospice patient Linda Stewart, a resident of Park Place Senior Living, once found great joy in creating chalk art and comfort in caring for babies. At Luminary Hospice, we strive to create Bright Moments that are deeply personal and meaningful to each patient, honoring the simple joys that bring them peace and happiness. The Luminary team came together to design a special experience just for Linda. With sidewalk chalk in hand, the team’s children and grandchildren joined in, filling the space with laughter and energy. Music floated through the air, bubbles drifted gently around, and cookies were shared to complete the joyful scene. When Linda arrived, she smiled and said, “Great idea!” She was fully engaged—holding her chalk, cuddling her baby doll, and tapping her foot to the music. It was a beautiful reminder of how small, thoughtful gestures can create lasting moments of comfort and connection. #BrightMoments #HospiceCare
