🛣️ Making Safety Visible in Reno At the intersection of Yori Avenue and Roberts Street, directly next to Libby Booth Elementary, Lumos partnered with the City of Reno to improve pedestrian safety and visibility for students and neighbors. This effort was incorporated into the Yori Avenue Reconstruction Project, in which our team provided surveying, civil design, geotechnical, and construction services. This intersection included new pedestrian bulb-outs and safety-focused design elements. While local artist Nathaniel Benjamin brought the colorful asphalt mural to life through a city-led initiative, Lumos helped set the stage for Reno’s first-ever asphalt mural designed to enhance pedestrian safety. 🚧 Project Spotlight: Exit 298 Lift Station & Force Main 📍 Elko, Nevada | 👷 Client: City of Elko To support future commercial, industrial, and residential growth west of Elko, Lumos & Associates provided full engineering services for the Exit 298 Sewer Lift Station and Force Main project. Our team delivered: • A Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) evaluating alignments, bypass strategies, and long-term system flexibility • A two-phase wet well/dry well design with dual 6” and 10” force mains spanning three miles—engineered for future expansion without re-excavation • Integration of geotechnical and corrosion mitigation measures to ensure durability and constructability • Permitting with NDOT and UPRR, plus construction assistance to keep the project moving smoothly 💧 Keeping Elko’s future flowing and spirits lifted!
