March is a do-first driven defense-tech innovation lab collaborating with Northrup Grumman. March Onward.

About us

Based in Washington, DC, we build open-source robots and sensors and field-test them with defense partners. Our mission is simple: turn off-the-shelf parts into reliable tools, fast. We design, code, and ship; then we take it outside and make it work. Recent projects range from self-driving ground robots to solar-powered water-quality stations. By working directly with defense companies, we harden our tech in real-world conditions and scale what works. We move quickly, stay practical, and measure success by working demos in the field—not slide decks. Plans on Brain-computer interface technology in the near future, more to come so stay tuned.

A huge thank you to Northrop Grumman’s Innovation Lab for opening the door for students to gain hands-on, real-world experience in fields they otherwise might never touch. For many of our interns, this was their very first chance to work directly with defense-level technology — and to see that their skills can create immediate, positive impact in the world. Just as important, they learned that serious technical work and fun don’t have to be mutually exclusive. This summer, our University of Maryland interns turned what began as internships into a fully fledged program, spending their time on the water at Fells Point in Baltimore working with LiDARs, sensor fusion, and water quality monitoring systems to directly benefit the Chesapeake Bay 🌊. A special thank you to Co-Founder Dominic L. for stepping up and playing an integral role in securing this partnership with Northrop Grumman’s Innovation Lab. He will lead as President of our East Coast Division at UMD for the next four years, ensuring these opportunities scale even further. We’re also grateful to narb and to our interns, Leo Chen, Ifa Bato, Gnana Manusri Nagaruru(and Jaiden Nguyen for capturing these photos) who were able to make it to our impromptu boat meeting before the semester started for proving that when students are given the right platform, they can turn curiosity into real-world change. This is just the start. 🚀 #NorthropGrumman #UMD #Innovation #ChesapeakeBay #SensorFusion #Autonomy #narb
