At HEW2025, hosted by Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships (NEEP), clean energy stakeholders discussed strategies for achieving widespread adoption of energy-efficient heat pumps. MassCEC’s Benjamin Christensen joined Barry Reaves (ACT | The Alliance for Climate Transition) and Laura Giannini (NYSERDA) in a discussion of workforce development programs in the heat pump industry. As the heat pump market grows, a stronger workforce is needed to keep up. MassCEC funds programs for recruiting and training heat pump and HVAC technicians. Climate innovation is about more than just inventing new technologies; it also includes improving the ones we're already familiar with. Jacob Wycoff from WBZ | CBS Boston recently stopped by Cala Systems in #Wilmington to explore the company’s smart water heater. Afterwards, he met with Leslie Nash to talk about the state’s climatetech corridor and MassCEC’s 10-year plan to support Massachusetts-based businesses like Cala Systems.
