Education professionals from across the county came together to explore strategies for connecting best practices in literacy instruction to AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), ensuring that students with complex communication needs have meaningful opportunities to engage in reading and writing. Throughout the day, participants gained practical tools and insights to better support AAC users in developing literacy skills, laying the groundwork for continued growth in helping every student communicate, learn, and thrive. Welcome back, Dreaming Forward! ✨ On Tuesday, MCIU Learns kicked off the second year of Dreaming Forward, a leadership development experience that brings together districts from across Montgomery County to elevate student voices and strengthen belonging in their schools. Yesterday's event focused on building self-awareness and relationship skills, giving students the opportunity to connect with peers from across the county, explore the challenges young people face in school, and begin implementing bold initiatives that will empower them to drive positive change in their schools, communities, and beyond.
