Today, 16 public safety associations, including Major County Sheriffs of America sent a letter to Congress urging action to grant state and local law enforcement the authority to have counter-UAS authority to be able to mitigate drones that pose substantial risk to our communities. With the upcoming large-scale events such as the FIFA World Cup and 2028 Olympics, the need is greater than ever. Further, correctional facilities across the country are dealing with drone intrusions daily which have the capabilities of dropping contraband and conducting surveillance of sensitive areas. Major County Sheriffs of America reposted this
Cybersecurity is a team effort and our partners just showed up in a big way! We’re grateful to the National Association of Counties and fellow organizations - the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO), United States Conference of Mayors, National League of Cities, and Major County Sheriffs of America - for their powerful letter to Congress urging the restoration of federal funding for the MS-ISAC. Without restored funding, communities across the country risk losing access to essential MS-ISAC services that help protect critical infrastructure like schools, hospitals, utilities, and law enforcement. Read the letter to learn more about what's at stake. Please share with your network to help build awareness of the MS-ISAC's impact on protecting our nation. https://bit.ly/4mC4L0o #cybersecurity #sltt

It is an honor to support the 9-1-1 Saves Act and work towards reclassifying our Public Safety Telecommunicators as a "protective service."
Thank you to the Major County Sheriffs of America (MCSA) for its recent letter to Congresswoman Torres, Congressman Fitzpatrick, Senator Klobuchar and Senator Blackburn supporting the 9-1-1 Saves Act, and the inclusion of its provisions in the Enhancing First Response Act. Proud to continue to partner with our law enforcement, fire, and EMS partners to ensure NG9-1-1 remains a priority.
The Public Safety NG9-1-1 Coalition appreciates the FCC’s continued efforts to facilitate the transition to NG9-1-1 by prioritizing the reliability and interoperability of 9-1-1 networks. True interoperability, as defined by the public safety community, will enhance emergency response by enabling 9-1-1 centers to seamlessly share 9-1-1 calls and critical data across state lines. The FCC’s proposals represent a significant step toward the Coalition’s broader goal of full NG9-1-1 deployment and will complement the public safety community’s advocacy for federal funding to support the deployment of NG9-1-1. https://lnkd.in/eeSgct6w
