Behind every cancer diagnosis is a person with a unique story. This World Cancer Day, we’re sharing just a few of these cancer stories. You’re invited to experience even more cancer stories firsthand at a new traveling museum exhibition, The Journey to End Cancer: From Cause to Cure, presented by MD Anderson in collaboration with the National Cancer Institute. The exhibition invites attendees to experience the personal stories behind cancer while educating, engaging and empowering visitors of all ages. The exhibition combines immersive multimedia, interactive science and first-person perspectives from patients, survivors, clinicians and scientists to explore both the human impact of cancer and the science advancing progress. The exhibition opens March 7 at The Health Museum in Houston and runs through August 2026 before traveling nationwide. Join us on the journey to end cancer. http://spr.ly/6044hynz2

Our Dr. Laurie McKenzie bridges oncology and reproductive medicine to expand family-building options for cancer patients. "The good news is that most people treated for cancer will become long-term survivors. A big part of their survivorship is the desire to have children in the future. I’m passionate about expanding their options and talking to patients about how to protect their fertility before they start treatment," she says. Here, she shares why her work is personal: http://spr.ly/6047hHtyT

Building personal connections with patients is important to Radiation Therapist Adela McCurley. Patients see their radiation therapists regularly over the course of their treatment. So, they often see them not just as medical professionals, but as personal therapists as well. “It’s enlightening to bring a sense of joy back to patients who are scared, and to be there, holding their hand throughout the process,” she says. How she sets the tone for our patients' treatment experience: http://spr.ly/6047hBPBh

“It gives families like mine real hope,” says Brian Perry of the launch of Kinder Children’s Cancer Center, a joint venture of UT MD Anderson and Texas Children's Hospital focused on ending childhood cancer. Made possible by a $150 million gift from Kinder Foundation, Kinder Children’s Cancer Center will be the largest and most comprehensive cancer center in the country focused solely on children when it opens in spring 2026. Brian’s son, Ethan, was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma shortly after he turned 12. He died eight months later. Read the Perrys’ story and learn why Brian and his wife, Angie, say Kinder Children’s Cancer Center will provide hope to patients and families everywhere. http://spr.ly/6041h6kox
