We are proud to congratulate our electrophysiology teams at Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center–Janesville and Javon Bea Hospital–Riverside for achieving a major milestone: becoming the first hospital in Wisconsin and the first in northern Illinois to offer the VARIPULSE Pulse Field Ablation Catheter for the treatment of atrial fibrillation (AFib). ❤️ The VARIPULSE catheter is designed to isolate the pulmonary veins, which are often a source of irregular electrical signals that cause AFib. Dr. Imdad Ahmed, director of the Mercyhealth Arrhythmia Center, along with the electrophysiology teams in Janesville and Rockford, each completed a successful ablation using this innovative pulse field ablation technology. Pulse field ablation delivers short bursts of high energy to ablate the heart tissue responsible for AFib. The VARIPULSE catheter is approved for use in treating drug-refractory, symptomatic, paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, giving patients an additional option to treat AFib. This achievement reflects our continued commitment to advancing heart care and improving outcomes for our patients. 🔗 Learn more about the Mercyhealth Arrhythmia Center: https://bit.ly/3Dc5ZLG #Electrophysiology #AFib #PulseFieldAblation #HeartHealth #InnovationInMedicine #Mercyhealth #VARIPULSE

We’re sending a big congratulations to Patrick, one of our talented cooks from the Food Services team, on receiving a Shield of Excellence Award! 👏 🎉 One of our partners took a moment to recognize Patrick for the incredible work he does each day. He’s the kind of team member we all strive to be—kind, cheerful, hardworking, and an all-around outstanding Mercyhealth partner. Patrick takes the time to learn his fellow partners' names and even remembers their usual café orders. Whether he’s busy at the grill or not, he’s always ready to lend a hand—helping someone carry a tray, grabbing decaf coffee, or jumping on the register when needed. Thank you, Patrick, for consistently bringing a smile to the faces of our patients, visitors, and partners. We’re truly grateful to have you on our team! 💙

We were proud to welcome over 40 students from RPS 205 for a recent job shadowing experience, including two motivated 11th graders from Guilford High School who spent time with our dedicated Medical Surgical nursing team. 🔵 Ben shared: “I’m really interested in helping people. I like that you can use medicine to do that.” 🔵Talal added: “I’ve always wanted to be a nurse. I love helping people and the hands-on part of nursing.” It’s always inspiring to see the next generation of health care professionals exploring their passion. Thank you to all the students who joined us! We’re excited to see where your journey leads.
