A passion for making lives better.

About us

At Mercyhealth, our doctors, nurses and staff are committed to making lives better for our patients and their families. They bring knowledge and innovation to ensure that our patients receive world-class health care, close to home. As an integrated health system, we provide exceptional, coordinated health care for almost every need. Integration improves access to services, technology and treatments, and leads to better outcomes. To best serve our patients, our integration centers around four core service areas: hospital-based services, clinic-based services, post-acute and retail services (home health, hospice, pharmacies, etc.), and a wholly owned and operated insurance company. At the heart of our organization are more than 7,000 doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers who live the Mercyhealth mission of providing exceptional health care services with a passion for making lives better. We’re committed to working together to make lives better for our patients and their families. Our passion drives and inspires us to do our very best, and we continuously look for ways to make each life better with the utmost care and professionalism. This can be as complex as a cutting-edge procedure or as simple as a smile. Nothing is ever too small or taken for granted. Everything matters.

  • As Health Month wraps up, we want to give a big shoutout to our amazing Mercyhealth partners! Your unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional care and supporting the well-being of our communities is the foundation of who we are. We hosted sub sandwich celebrations throughout May at various locations—a small way to recognize the incredible work our partners do every day. Here are a few fun moments we captured during the celebrations!

  • We’re excited to welcome our newest partners to our team! At Mercyhealth, orientation is more than just onboarding—it’s a meaningful introduction to our culture, values, and community. As one new team member shared: "I think that the orientation provided very helpful information that answered a lot of questions that I had going into it. It was a very friendly and engaging environment." We’re proud to foster a welcoming experience from day one. Welcome aboard! #Welcome #Orientation #TeamMercyhealth #HealthcareProfessionals #OnboardingExperience

  • Earlier this month, our well-being committee hosted a walk/run at Rock Cut State Park for our employees and their families! 🌳🏃♀️ This annual event is a great opportunity to get outside, stay active and connect with colleagues from across our system—even in the chilly spring weather. We’re especially grateful to our local YMCA partners for donating complimentary gym memberships as door prizes—helping encourage wellness in every corner of our region. Congratulations to our winners from Rock, Walworth, McHenry, and Winnebago counties! 🎉 Special thanks to: ➡️ YMCA of Rock River Valley, Inc. ➡️ Sage YMCA in Crystal Lake ➡️ YMCA of Northern Rock County ➡️ Geneva Lakes Family YMCA We appreciate everyone who joined us and made the day so special. 💙 #EmployeeWellBeing #CommunityPartnership #HealthAndWellness #TeamEngagement #YMCA

  • Congratulations to Christine on receiving a Shield of Excellence Award! 👏🎉 A visitor wanted to give a special shoutout to Christine, our Occupational Therapist, for the outstanding job she did representing Mercyhealth during a High School Healthcare Club session focused on Rehabilitation. Christine provided an excellent overview of Occupational Therapy, covering topics such as patient care responsibilities, required education and training, challenges in the field, goal setting with clients, and career pathways. The visitor was especially impressed by her depth of knowledge, clear communication, and the genuine joy and enthusiasm she brings to her profession. Thank you, Christine, for representing Mercyhealth so well and for helping equip students with a meaningful and accurate understanding of Occupational Therapy. We’re proud to have you on our team! 💙

  • We are proud to congratulate our electrophysiology teams at Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center–Janesville and Javon Bea Hospital–Riverside for achieving a major milestone: becoming the first hospital in Wisconsin and the first in northern Illinois to offer the VARIPULSE Pulse Field Ablation Catheter for the treatment of atrial fibrillation (AFib). ❤️ The VARIPULSE catheter is designed to isolate the pulmonary veins, which are often a source of irregular electrical signals that cause AFib. Dr. Imdad Ahmed, director of the Mercyhealth Arrhythmia Center, along with the electrophysiology teams in Janesville and Rockford, each completed a successful ablation using this innovative pulse field ablation technology. Pulse field ablation delivers short bursts of high energy to ablate the heart tissue responsible for AFib. The VARIPULSE catheter is approved for use in treating drug-refractory, symptomatic, paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, giving patients an additional option to treat AFib. This achievement reflects our continued commitment to advancing heart care and improving outcomes for our patients. 🔗 Learn more about the Mercyhealth Arrhythmia Center: https://bit.ly/3Dc5ZLG #Electrophysiology #AFib #PulseFieldAblation #HeartHealth #InnovationInMedicine #Mercyhealth #VARIPULSE

  • We’re sending a big congratulations to Patrick, one of our talented cooks from the Food Services team, on receiving a Shield of Excellence Award! 👏 🎉 One of our partners took a moment to recognize Patrick for the incredible work he does each day. He’s the kind of team member we all strive to be—kind, cheerful, hardworking, and an all-around outstanding Mercyhealth partner. Patrick takes the time to learn his fellow partners' names and even remembers their usual café orders. Whether he’s busy at the grill or not, he’s always ready to lend a hand—helping someone carry a tray, grabbing decaf coffee, or jumping on the register when needed. Thank you, Patrick, for consistently bringing a smile to the faces of our patients, visitors, and partners. We’re truly grateful to have you on our team! 💙
