Thank you, Clem ❤️❤️❤️ Without Meta, no PyTorch. Without PyTorch, no AI industry (Llama, ChatGPT, DeepSeek, and everything else except Gemini is built on PyTorch). Without Llama, no open source LLM industry. Without Llama2, no AI industry (how many companies build on top of Llama?) Without Llama, no AI sovereignty outside the US (how do you get an LLM to speak Indic languages, Kazakh, and hundreds of other languages?) Without Llama2 and Llama3, no DeepSeek. And that's not even mentioning DINOv2, SAM, FAISS, FastText, Detectron, Fairseq, Roberta, and 1200 other open source AI packages. Also, without Meta-FAIR's policies of open research and publication, which caused Google and others to open up, the fast progress in AI of the last 10 years would not have happened. https://lnkd.in/ectNtvMB
I don't get why so many people are dunking on Meta. Building frontier AI models is freaking hard & they have consistently released 10 times more openly than others which is game-changer for the field. What about all the other big tech & startups with much more AI ressources that are releasing much less openly? Should we name names?

Many AI applications rely on fast and reliable vector search. At Meta, we’ve been optimizing Faiss, our open-source library for similarity search, using NVIDIA cuVS to accelerate its performance. By integrating NVIDIA cuVS into Faiss, we have: ✅ Doubled query speed with up to 2X faster vector search ✅ Improved GPU memory efficiency ✅ Enhanced performance across real-time applications for large-scale AI systems ➡️ Check out how our engineering team made it happen: https://lnkd.in/gzy8kvur 📖 Dive deeper into Faiss in this article: https://lnkd.in/g-uHYYqq #AI #MachineLearning #Infrastructure #Faiss #LifeAtMeta
