About us

Micromobility is a media property and community focusing on the future of small EVs. Through our newsletter, blog, podcast, and global event series, we provide news, insights, and analysis about how small electric vehicles—electric scooters, bikes, boards, buggies—are changing the way people and packages get from Point A to Point B in cities. We have held global conferences in San Francisco, Berlin, and Amsterdam.

  • 🚨 Breaking: Rivian spinout ALSO launches its first micromobility lineup A new name just entered the micromobility world, and it’s a big one. ALSO., the billion-dollar startup spun out of Rivian, has officially unveiled its first line of electric micromobility vehicles: the TM-B, a modular Class 3 e-bike, and the TM-Q, a four-wheel pedal-assist quad for consumers and commercial fleets. The TM-B delivers up to 100 miles of range, 180 Nm of torque, and a top assist speed of 28 mph using the company’s proprietary DreamRide system. “Our goal is to combine advanced technology with practical, enjoyable design that makes efficient mobility aspirational,” said Chris Yu, President of ALSO. The company originated as an internal project at Rivian before spinning out earlier this year. “ALSO was created to challenge what’s possible in smaller form factors,” said RJ Scaringe, founder and CEO of Rivian. Alongside the TM-B, ALSO introduced the TM-Q, a pedal-assist quad designed for bike lanes, daily commutes, and urban delivery. The company also announced a collaboration with Amazon to deploy thousands of custom e-cargo quads across the United States and Europe. Preorders for the TM-B opened today, with deliveries beginning in spring 2026. Pricing starts at $4,000 for the base model and $4,500 for the Limited Launch and Performance Editions. Backed by Greenoaks Capital and Eclipse Ventures, ALSO now enters the micromobility space with over $300 million raised and a bold vision. • Meet the Winners of the Startup Awards at Micromobility Europe 2025 🚀 At Micromobility Europe 2025 in Brussels, the Startup Arena brought together some of the most promising early-stage founders in mobility. The Startup Awards, presented by Maxim Romain, Co-founder of Dott, celebrated three companies redefining how people move through cities. 🥇 Blike A London-based startup building subscription infrastructure for e-bikes. Blike bundles the vehicle, insurance, maintenance, and financing into one seamless platform.  “Winning at Micromobility Europe was a real inflection point for Blike,” said CEO Tim Carrigan. “The exposure helped us secure a £10M institutional credit facility to expand across Europe.” 🥈 Bib batteries This Paris-based company is tackling one of micromobility’s toughest challenges: battery lifecycle and circularity. Its tools assess end-of-life batteries and optimize reuse, repair, and recycling. “It has become essential to integrate circular economy principles into micromobility fleets,” said CEO Pierre-Amans Lapeyre. “Our mission is to direct every battery toward its best possible outcome.” 🥉 FLIT A Cambridge-based startup focused on design and portability. Its folding e-bikes make city riding simple, fun, and flexible. “Micromobility has been on a rollercoaster since Covid,” said Co-founder Alex Murray. “But the mission remains the same: giving people better ways to move around cities that are fast, flexible, and fun.” A big shout out to the jury Emilie Calmettes, Johan Høgåsen-Hallesby and Peter Vest for picking the winners.
