Continuums of Care make it simpler for people to get out of homelessness and into a home that works for them. They coordinate vital information so people don’t fall through the cracks, and use those insights to pair people with available housing and supports. This crucial link streamlines and speeds up the process for everyone involved, getting people into a home faster, reducing overhead and vacancy time for property owners, and freeing up case managers to focus on care and support rather than paperwork. In short, Continuums of Care are the unheralded backbone of our local homelessness response. Thank you to everyone who participates and leads in Minnesota’s 10 Continuum of Care regions! #Minnesota #ContinuumOfCare #endhomelessness #local

Today is World Homeless Day. 🏠 At MDVA, we’re proud to be leading the way toward ending Veteran homelessness in Minnesota. Our state has already reached this goal in nine of ten regions, and we continue to work alongside Ramsey County to achieve it statewide. Minnesota is on track to become the fourth state in the nation to effectively end Veteran homelessness — a milestone that reflects real, lasting change for those who served. Still, with more than 100 Veterans experiencing homelessness at any given time, our work isn’t done. We remain committed to ensuring every Veteran has a safe place to call home. 🔗 Learn more about how MDVA is helping end Veteran homelessness: MinnesotaVeteran.org #WorldHomelessDay #EndingHomelessness #MDVA #MNVeteran #Housing

The Valiance is 48 homes people can afford with supports they can use to thrive. The Valiance is 54 shelter beds for women to have a safe place to sleep and figure out their next step toward a permanent home. The Valiance is a space for people to breathe easier and a chance to dream big for the next stages of their lives. Built by Agate Housing and Services and Trellis, this south Minneapolis building combining both shelter and homes reminds us that shelter saves lives, and housing ends homelessness. It was a joy to share in its grand opening today! The State of Minnesota is proud to support The Valiance by providing $5 million in funding through Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, $7 million in shelter capital through Minnesota Department of Human Services, and tax credits through Minnesota Housing. Together, these investments offer hope and a stronger future for our community. #minneapolis #sheltersaveslives #housingendshomelessness #minnesota #collaboration #affordablehousing

You may have heard the term, but what exactly IS a Continuum of Care??? Continuums of Care are regional bodies that identify and address the unique needs of their area to prevent and end homelessness. Every community in Minnesota is served by a Continuum of Care. They bring federal money into our communities - supporting thousands of people with critical shelter, housing, and services each year - and help local partners work more efficiently together. #Minnesota #ContinuumOfCare #endhomelessness #localcommunity
