Congratulations to our client Flightpath Biosciences, Inc on expanding its pipeline with a new clinical‑stage product license from Northeastern University. This milestone highlights its commitment to advancing precision anti‑infectives through innovative science and collaboration. FP530 (Formibactin A) represents an exciting step forward in tackling disease‑driving bacteria while preserving the microbiome. We’re proud to support Flightpath on its journey and look forward to what’s ahead as it continues to grow and innovate.
Flightpath Biosciences Expands Pipeline with New Drug License from Northeastern University Flightpath Biosciences has licensed FP530 (Formibactin A), a clinical-stage, orally bioavailable peptide deformylase inhibitor discovered by Dr. Kim Lewis at Northeastern University’s Antimicrobial Drug Discovery Center. FP530 shows potent, selective activity against key gram-negative pathogens, including Fusobacterium nucleatum, Porphyromonas gingivalis, Borrelia burgdorferi, and Gardnerella vaginalis—organisms implicated in diseases spanning oncology, neuroinflammation, and women’s health. This marks Flightpath’s second license from Northeastern University, reflecting a deep and ongoing collaboration to advance precision anti-infectives through our Targeted Bacterial Deletion™ platform. “FP530 offers the potential to eliminate disease-driving bacteria without disrupting the microbiome—a key differentiator from broad-spectrum antibiotics,” said Dr. Kim Lewis. 🔗 Learn more at www.flightpath.bio #Biotech #DrugDiscovery #PrecisionMedicine #Microbiome #InfectiousDiseases #FlightpathBiosciences Colorectal Cancer Alliance Crohn's & Colitis Foundation Invest Detroit Michigan Rise Ann Arbor SPARK

Forbes featured insights from Of Counsel Michelle Capezza in an article about the distinction between risk capacity and risk tolerance in retirement planning. The article notes that while many retirement plan participants intuitively understand the concept of risk capacity, its nuances are not always reflected in the risk assessment tools available through 401(k) plans due to fiduciary liability concerns. Michelle says, “An assessment of risk capacity is more of an objective assessment regarding how much risk a person can take based on their financial situation, considering such things as their income and expenses, assets and liabilities, time horizon, goals, and other obligations. An assessment of risk tolerance is more of a subjective gauge regarding an individual’s willingness to take on risk, and how much risk they would be comfortable taking on.” https://lnkd.in/g_hQvzcf

Investment Funds Practice Chair Kari Harris was quoted in a Buyouts article about how private equity firms are increasingly turning to alternative sources of capital amid a slowdown in traditional fundraising. One strategy gaining traction is the recycling of proceeds from asset sales into new investments, which many funds have become more flexible with. “Historically, there’s been a really narrowed definition of dollars that could be recycled and may or may not have an overcommitment cap. The current trend is a broader ability to recycle dollars,” Kari says. https://lnkd.in/eQuXbhsq
