The Misericordia Family is saddened to hear of the passing of Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt, BVM the beloved chaplain for the Loyola Ramblers Men's Basketball. Another amazing woman who did so much for the city of Chicago. Our prayers are with her family and the Loyola University Chicago Community. As Metra unveiled its new Peterson/Ridge Ave stop, artists at Misericordia once again let their creativity take center stage w/ a beautiful mural depicting our great city, entitled “Our City in the Sky.” The image was based on a painting created by Misericordia resident, William G. Union Pacific Railroad joined us today for the official ribbon cutting! Look for us on NBC Chicago! Participants in the Community Day Services ARISE program have been practicing riding CTA buses to destinations in the community. This week, they utilized CTA to visit the Edgewater Public Library, where they got to enjoy the beautiful mural on the front of the building, and choose books to check out for Hispanic Heritage Month!
