Today, we can announce that we have entered into an expanded strategic partnership with Bristow, the leading global provider of innovative and sustainable vertical flight solutions, to deliver full-service ‘Ready-to-Fly’ eVTOL operations for VX4 customers. Mirroring successful operating models used by airlines, the two companies will offer access to certified aircraft, trained pilots, maintenance, and insurance, and manage aircraft operations on behalf of customers. Vertical Aerospace “Appoints Lord Andrew Parker to Board, Former MI5 Director General.” UK-based Vertical Aerospace, announced this week the appointment of Lord Andrew Parker, a former MI5 Director General, to its Board of Directors, reports a press release. This move strengthens the company’s lead in defence, national security and government affairs. The release states, “Lord Parker brings great experience in national security and intelligence from a distinguished career serving the UK government, most notably as a former Director General of MI5, the UK Government’s national security agency, from 2013–2020, where he also served on a range of committees including the National Security Council. We’re excited to share that Vertical Aerospace, one of our significant investments, has made aviation history with the first piloted wingborne flight of its VX4 electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) prototype. During this landmark flight, the VX4 operated like a conventional aircraft – using lift from its wings – and demonstrated the aircraft’s real-world capabilities in open airspace. This marks a major milestone for the electric aviation industry, and a critical step on Vertical’s path toward commercial readiness. Vertical Aerospace, one of our significant investments, recently announced an expanded strategic partnership with Honeywell to unlock speed and efficiencies in delivering Vertical’s VX4 aircraft to customers. As part of this collaboration, the companies will work together to achieve the highest certification standards for some of the most critical systems on the VX4, ultimately making the aircraft safer and easier to fly. This agreement meaningfully advances Vertical’s path toward achieving certification by 2028 and delivering at least 150 aircraft by 2030, with a potential $1 billion in value over the next decade.
