  • We love a good day AND a good cause! Such a fun time yesterday at North Ridge Country Club in Raleigh for the WakeMed Classic Golf Tournament! Proud of our team that tied for first place! This year’s Classic teed up for mental health, raising funds for the WakeMed Foundation and helping ensure access to critical health resources in our community. A huge thank you to the organizers, sponsors and everyone who came out to play and support. And of course—congratulations to our team for a strong finish on the course! #WakeMed #MuterLife

Hey, Wey! 👋 Wey Hall is open! The fully renovated building welcomed students, faculty and staff on the first day of class but was officially celebrated with a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, Sept. 9. With more space dedicated and modernized for teaching and making, Wey Hall provides an improved, safer and more effective learning environment for all. Wey Hall is looking better than ever but still can’t beat the interesting, impressive and technical works of art that Mountaineers are making inside! Take a peek. • What a fun time at the 2025 Construction Summit & Expo in Hilton Head, SC - hosted by Carolinas AGC! We had the chance to connect with industry peers, learn from a strong lineup of speakers, and enjoy some well-deserved fun with our colleagues and families. From working the escape room to eating way too much good food, we had a ball! We’re especially honored to have received the Presidential Award for Safety Performance - a recognition that means a lot to our entire team. Safety is at the core of everything we do, and this award reflects the commitment of every person at Muter Construction. Thank you to Carolinas AGC for hosting such a fabulous time! As always! We’re already looking forward to next year! #ConstructionSummit2025 #CarolinasAGC #SafetyExcellence #MuterLife

  • Meet Tyler Ottobre, one of our fabulous summer interns who spent the last few months supporting the team at the Whichard Building project at ECU! This was his first experience on a jobsite—and thanks to the mentorship of our team, it quickly turned into a hands-on learning opportunity! As Tyler shared: “My experience so far with Muter has been great. Most of this was totally new for me, and from the day I got to the jobsite, Declan, Cory and Matt all sat down and explained things to me while working hands-on at the same time to really grasp it. It has been a great learning experience so far.” But what made the biggest impression? “One thing that will stick with me is how welcoming everyone is. No matter if you're on a jobsite or in the office, you get treated like family.” We’re proud to foster a culture where people feel supported and empowered to grow from day one. And, super happy that Tyler is staying on part-time for the fall! #InternSpotlight #MuterLife

  • Meet Jackson Shirley, one of our rock star interns who spent the summer working alongside our healthcare team at ECU Health in Greenville. We’re excited to have him continue part-time with us this fall! Reflecting on his experience, Jackson shared: "My experience with Muter has been great. I've learned a lot from my superintendents and project manager, and these lessons will definitely stick with me after this internship." One lesson that left a lasting impression? The critical role of quality control in healthcare construction. As he put it: "Working with Muter at ECU Health has shown me just how critical it is to maintain high standards at every phase of the project. In a healthcare environment, even small mistakes can have serious consequences, so everything from materials to installation methods must meet strict specifications." We’re proud to be part of shaping the next generation of construction professionals—and we’re even prouder when they bring this level of insight and dedication to the work. Yay, Jackson! #HealthcareConstruction #InternSpotlight #ConstructionCareers #MuterLife

  • We’re excited to spotlight Zachary Kohn, who has spent the past two summers with us as an intern! This summer, he's on the Sam's Branch project in Clayton! Reflecting on his time with Muter, Zachary shared: “I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to project management, site coordination, and the daily problem-solving required with active construction. The support and mentorship I have received over the past two summers have been crucial to my career development and given me a deeper appreciation for the collaboration involved in construction. Not only has this program strengthened my knowledge of the field and allowed me to apply many of the lessons I have learned in school, it has also helped me grow personally.” When asked what will stick with him most, he said: “The importance of communication on a job site. Clear and timely communication is critical, whether it be coordinating with subcontractors, clarifying plans with architects, or relaying progress to the project manager. I have learned many lessons through witnessing my mentors navigate issues, plan ahead, build trust, and create accountability to foster a collaborative, team-first environment.” Thank you, Zachary, for your dedication, insight, and positive attitude. We’re proud to have been part of your journey and can’t wait to see what you accomplish next! #InternSpotlight #ConstructionCareers #FutureLeaders #MuterLife

  • Site visits, career insights and leadership development—all in a day’s work for our summer interns! Yesterday our cohort visited the ECSU Currituck Hangar, where we toured the project currently under construction, saw the newly completed Drone Classroom on campus and observed an OAC meeting for the Hangar and the preconstruction meeting for the School of Aviation, which is set to start soon! We were fortunate to hear from two accomplished industry leaders who graciously gave us some of their time! Amanda Brooks, PE, RCDD, Owner’s Representative for ECSU, shared candid advice on navigating the early stages of her career, lessons she’s learned along the way, and how she advocated for herself in a male-dominated field. Jim Rains, FAIA of Construction Phase Resources, LLC, offered a wealth of knowledge and stories from his remarkable architectural career, highlighting the importance of ethics, mentorship, and staying curious. Some fabulous advice and connections here! We capped off our time together unpacking our DiSC assessments with a group workshop—strengthening our communication and collaboration skills to better understand how to work together! We’re proud to support the next generation of industry leaders with hands-on experience, personal mentorship and meaningful connections!
