Tallahassee Calling: Aligning for Impact with Pathways to Prosperity
As we kick off the week, I’m reflecting on alignment in work, in life, and in leadership. When our values and culture align with those around us, we build more than momentum. We build trust, collaboration, and a community where everyone benefits. It’s a thriving ecosystem of human and institutional connections
That’s the heart of the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE) Pathways to Prosperity Summit, happening this week at Tallahassee State College (TSC). Home to many successful academic programs including the Wakulla Environmental Institute (WEI) which operates in the Apalachee Bay where students learn about oyster farming in a real-world marine environment.
These photos bring back special memories from my January 2024 visit to TSC for the Presidential Leadership Summit. One of the most memorable moments was touring the Florida Public Safety Institute (FPSI), created by TSC President, Dr. Jim Murdaugh, where I witnessed the high-tech, hands-on training that students and public safety professionals engage in every day. That same day, I had the joy of sharing a beautiful high tea and brunch thoughtfully prepared by Dr. Angela Long, Ed.D..
Despite all the planning and preparation for the upcoming Summit, I know the most transformative moments won’t be on the agenda. They will arrive through connections. It’s what the Swiss psychologist Carl Jung called synchronicity, those meaningful coincidences that arise when people with shared values come together with intention.
Jung, a pioneer in analytical psychology, taught us that transformation often begins beneath the surface, through awareness, alignment, and authentic relationships. At this Summit, I believe we’ll see just that, delightful surprises, unplanned insights, and new pathways emerging because we chose to show up, listen, and lead together.

RELEASE WHAT NO LONGER ALIGNS. Whether it’s a habit, project, or even a relationship, make space for what fits with your values and aspirational culture.
