More than eight months after Hurricane Helene, Community Health Centers like Mountain Community Health Partnership in western North Carolina are still on the front lines of recovery. Even after losing one of their sites to floodwaters, they continued delivering care, proving once again that Community Health Centers are anchors in their communities. 🔗 Check out #CommunityHealthForum, the online magazine that’s part of a joint editorial initiative between NACHC and Direct Relief, to read how this Community Health Center adapted, cared for patients in crisis, and is building back stronger: https://bit.ly/3ZjtQEb #ValueCHCs

"Because community health centers, including the Wright Center, serve a large portion of Medicaid patients, any cuts to Medicaid funding could seriously jeopardize the primary care safety net and limit access to care for those folks." – Aimee Wechsler, Director of Government Affairs, Wright Center, discussed the impact proposals to change Medicaid could have on her health center. Community Health Centers, like The Wright Center for Community Health in Pennsylvania, care for thousands of people who rely on Medicaid for coverage. What happens if Medicaid is cut or eligibility is reduced? “You’re talking about worse health outcomes, more (emergency department) visits, people who are just opting out of care generally, because they don’t want to deal with the red tape,” Jeron Ravin, JD, president and CEO of Swope Health Swope Health and member of the NACHC Board of Directors told The Beacon. Swope is a Community Health Center serving both Missouri and Kansas communities. https://lnkd.in/eE7aM9Gz
