What a powerful lunch! 🍝 Hearing from the incredible staff at McPherson Elementary truly fueled our "Future Ready" vision. The energy and commitment were palpable! We were thrilled to hear about the transformative results in early learning, thanks to the Transitional Kindergarten program, creating a common academic starting line, and the impactful HIIT (High-Intensity Instructional Training) program. It's clear that staff are excited about facility improvements and the hands-on learning happening in the STEAM spaces! Above all, the tremendous pride for their school community is the bedrock of everything they do. Thank you for your candor and dedication, McPherson! Spaghetti with Dr. Mucetti at Browns Valley TK-8 was Wunder-Grrr! The success of the TK-8 program and the school's incredibly welcoming culture were on full display as she met with staff from across grade levels to enjoy a spaghetti lunch. According to Dr. Mucetti, "The feeling was one of a shared sense of partnership. I was so impressed by the staff's professionalism, their willingness to collaborate on solutions, and their deep sense of pride in the Browns Valley community." Wrapping up the day at Napa Junction Elementary! Superintendent Dr. Rosanna Mucetti, NVUSD Board President Eve Ryser, NVUSD Board Member and CSBA Region 3 Director Robin Jankiewicz, CSBA President Dr. Bettye Lusk, and PACER Carrie Castro saw TK-2 teachers demonstrating high-impact literacy instruction supported by the LETRS framework. This means that Napa Junction students have the tools and instruction they need to read and write! Then, they enjoyed an amazing meal provided by NOSH Central Kitchen, seeing firsthand how the NVUSD Food Services team prioritizes student wellness by preparing healthy, scratch-cooked meals. What a powerful morning at Vintage High School! We heard directly from Vintage and New Technology high school students about the impact of our @stars_college_network partnership, Early College programs, Dual Enrollment at Napa Valley College, and guaranteed admissions agreements with @csueb and Sonoma State. We then explored career technical education offerings as we visited the soon-to-open Agriculture Science Innovation Center. Strong governance from the board level down is essential for these types of partnerships and projects to flourish. Together, NVUSD and the California School Boards Association are ensuring every student has a clear pathway to college or career.
