Today and every day, we remember: All the babies born sleeping. Those carried but never held. Those held that could not be taken home. Those taken home that could not stay. We remember. Always. 💗💙 Earlier this month, the hospital was lit pink and blue to honor pregnancy and infant loss awareness month.

“My passion is people. It is helping others discover their own strength, direction, and purpose—especially when they do not yet see it in themselves. As an athletic trainer in the high school setting, I see young people come back stronger from injury—physically, emotionally and mentally.” - John, Outreach Manager, Sports Medicine Learn more about athletic trainer roles at https://bit.ly/3GtpG6d

👋 Meet Cora! Sweet Cora was born at just 24 weeks gestation and spent 447 days in the NICU! We are excited to share she officially celebrated her "zoo day" last month and was finally able to go home with her parents! Cora's mom shares her NICU journey: "Cora's story began with a challenging start. She was born extremely premature at just 24 weeks, weighing only 1 pound, 0.9 ounces. Because of her early arrival, she developed bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). We were so fortunate to be at the only hospital in the country that has a specific NICU unit dedicated to the treatment of babies with BPD. Their focus on the whole baby, including their development, is absolutely world class. Over her fifteen months in the NICU, Cora required and successfully underwent several critical procedures, including a PDA closure for her heart, laser eye surgery, and the placement of ear tubes. She also received a G-tube to ensure she meets her nutritional needs." Cora's mom continues, "We even marked her first birthday within the walls of this unit—a significant milestone that highlighted her resilience. We'll never forget looking out at the nurses, staff, and other parents singing her happy birthday. The expertise and compassion of the doctors and nurses here were foundational to Cora’s survival and growth. They prepared us to confidently manage her complex care, making her transition home a reality." Cora has been home for nearly one month now and is THRIVING! Her mom shares, "She has quickly found her rhythm at home, working on new developmental milestones and finally settling into her own space. Bringing Cora home was the culmination of this long journey. We are deeply grateful to this hospital and its staff for the incredible, life-changing care that allowed us to begin our new chapter as a family!” Congratulations Cora and family! We are so excited for the journey ahead of you and the many, many milestones Cora will continue to achieve. 💜
