Earlier this week, NeighborHealth hosted Maternal Health Legislation in Action: Panel Update — bringing together legislators, public health leaders, and community advocates for an impactful discussion on advancing maternal health equity in Massachusetts.   The conversation underscored the urgent need to address disparities that continue to affect Black, Latino, and Indigenous communities, while highlighting exciting progress made through the state’s Maternal Health Omnibus Law. NeighborHealth was honored to attend the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗘𝗹 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗼 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁, where nearly 600 leaders gathered to celebrate the contributions of the Latino community. This year’s theme — 𝘓𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘰𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘌𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 — emphasized the critical role teachers play in preparing the next generation of Latino leaders.   We were inspired by the extraordinary career of Marilu Alvarado-Hernandez, this year’s 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 recipient. This week, we proudly launched Boston’s first 𝟮𝟰/𝟳 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 at our East Boston location at 10 Gove Street. In partnership with the Boston Public Health Commission, this innovative initiative provides free, anonymous, and life-saving supplies—like naloxone, menstrual products, socks, blankets, hygiene kits, and more—available to our community anytime, day or night.⁣  ⁣ At NeighborHealth, we believe healthcare is a human right.
