Our leaders travel around the world to grow our business and deepen connections with associates and teams in the communities where we work, live and play. These trips strengthen our One NB culture, foster collaboration and drive our business forward. New Balance's CEO and President Joe Preston recently visited our teams in EMEA, including our European headquarters in Amsterdam and associates in Spain and Greece. "No matter where we are in the world, our associates bring their passion and relentless commitment to collaboration and innovation that reflect our brand’s heritage and values," he said. Independent since 1906, we empower people through sport and craftsmanship to create positive change around the world.
About us
In 1906, New Balance began as a humble one-man operation founded on the belief that “we were born to move,” and has since grown into an international corporation, selling footwear and apparel in over 120 countries and employing over 8,000 associates worldwide. Our mission has always been to support the performance of athletes, and with an unparalleled focus on quality and craftsmanship, we’ve come to set the standard for comfort and fit in an industry all too often driven by hype. We’re incredibly proud of our history and how far we’ve come, but companies don’t thrive for over a century by being content. Whether it’s setting a new style trend, retooling our manufacturing process, or building a new state-of-the-art headquarters, we pursue innovation with a spirit of fearless independence. As the only privately held major footwear company in the world, we’re free to do things our way, pushing limits and testing boundaries as we continually reimagine what could be. After all, the status quo isn’t static. But doing things our way wouldn’t mean much if we weren’t also doing them the right way. We invest in our associates as they invest in us, and as we move forward, we make a point of giving back, supporting communities around us through ambitious philanthropic efforts and involvement programs. We are a company that cares, and our culture is one of integrity and teamwork where together we become greater than the sum of our parts.

New Balance's Brand President and Chief Marketing Officer Chris Davis recently visited our Japan team in Tokyo, a region that continues to set the global standard for premium retail and cultural connection.
📍 Tokyo, Japan. If you know sneakers, you know that New Balance has long been entrenched in Japanese footwear culture. A market, a country and a consumer demographic that represents our ambition to be the most premium athletic brand in the world. A society on the forefront of innovation, while simultaneously honoring tradition, craft and elevated experiences. I had the pleasure of visiting our New Balance Japan team last week in Tokyo, here’s what we continue to learn: 📝 Japan leads the league in curated specialty retail. From meticulous visual merchandising, unique retail formats and a supreme focus on customer service, to takeaway collectibles & visual look books - there is a lot that the rest of the world can learn from the Japanese retail landscape. From our Flagship in Harujuku, to our Run Hub in Yoyogi Park and the ‘tucked away’ T – House in Nihonbashi Hamacho – these experiences realize the power and range of NB. ⚾️ Shohei Ohtani is as big as you would have guessed, and baseball is thriving and growing. Baseball continues to be the most popular sport in Japan from both a participation and viewership standpoint, and Shohei is at the center as the cultural icon. 🌎 Thinking global and acting local is a difficult cultural nuance to attain. Regional authenticity is essential to driving a global brand image. In the case of Japan, ensuring premium elevation through unique product collections like NB’s Tokyo Design Studio or the iconic New Balance Japanese tech blazer. A special thanks to New Balance Japan for being amazing hosts and representing the best of New Balance. #branding • #marketing • Creative Artists Agency • Major League Baseball (MLB)
