The next step in the re-emergence of Michigan Central: to bring back multimodal transportation to the former train station site. The new hub will serve buses, trains, and more from across the city of region. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer mentioned that this new hub will be a great connector for our nearby communities: "[The hub] lays the foundation for a new multimodal transportation hub that will grow our regional economy, make downtown Detroit more vibrant, and connect residents and visitors to our communities.” Read more in Smart Cities Dive: https://lnkd.in/eigxfatK

We work with innovators to accelerate smarter, cleaner, more accessible solutions for communities and cities.
About us
NextEnergy works with a variety of industry partners to commercialize innovative new technologies, helping them to transform those ideas into solutions that will create a better quality of life for all. Based in the center of Detroit’s growing innovation district with access to a microgrid, smart home, electric vehicle charging infrastructure and an alternative fuels platform, we demonstrate and pilot technologies in real-world environments to gather data and diverse user-experiences. This process helps us to quickly scale and deploy solutions by accelerating commercialization in two key areas: Smart Mobility: connected, automated, shared and electrified (CASE) mobility solutions and how they interact with the surrounding infrastructure and systems. Smart Grid: smart, energy-efficient solutions for buildings and homes, and how they interact with the surrounding infrastructure and systems.

This is a great partnership that will help to ensure drones do not only deliver packages to rooftops, but that those parcels are properly delivered to the correct recipients. Check out this feature on Tubular Network from last year in DBusiness Magazine when they first expanded in Detroit: https://lnkd.in/g4AG4tK9
We are excited to host Tubular Network at the DSPL to pioneer the world's first drone-to-building delivery system! Thanks to a Michigan Mobility Funding Platform grant from the MI Office of Future Mobility and Electrification, Tubular Network will operate out of the DSPL with support from NextEnergy to transform the future of mobility. Tubular Network turns rooftops into drone delivery hubs. The drone delivers a package to the roof of its destination, then moves down through the building to its final location through smart vertical tubes. Look for this new project on the rooftop of the DSPL and stay tuned to learn more about this unique new system!
