Excited to announce the opportunity I received to help coach 2nd and 5th grade athletes during my last semester at Duke University. We had our “preseason games” last weekend and the kids had an absolute blast. It’s moments like these where you get to step away from the busyness of everyday life and appreciate the value this sport provides to young athletes. Can’t wait for the rest of the spring. Thank you Next Level Sports !

One of the most important things kids should do when they’re young is play freely and have fun, especially when they start a sport. Last weekend, we kicked off our new partnership with Next Level Sports, which is a youth flag football league. With kids playing in grades 1–5, and me getting to coach 1st and 2nd graders, I was not only shocked but also so happy by how well they did. Football can feel like a production-based sport at times, but when you’re young, it's about having fun and making memories. You’re a kid. You want to run around, laugh, meet friends, and try something new. Seeing the kids yelling, smiling, and just having fun reminded me what youth sports are really about: connection, joy, and learning through play. The people that you meet at events like these carry into other sports, school, and life. And you don’t get that from the sport, but the people who contribute to the sport. Players, coaches, and staff who all become family. Absolutely love little league flag football.

  • From coaching with us at Next Level Flag Football to winning the Heisman Trophy, and now adding a National Championship to the résumé… Congratulations to Fernando Mendoza 🏆🏈 What makes Fernando special isn’t just what he’s accomplished, it’s how he’s done it. He’s the definition of an inspirational student-athlete. Someone who is always learning, always asking questions, and using that leadership to positively impact the athletes around him. Our young players got to see it up close: - Be coachable and obsessed with getting better - Bring energy and effort to every rep - Lift others while you chase your own goals That example matters. When kids see a coach who’s still a student of the game, it shows them that growth is the real advantage… and that the best leaders never stop learning. Proud of you, Coach Mendoza. And even more proud of the message you’ve helped set for the next generation. 💪🔥 #youthsports #NCAA #Heisman

College football is NOT supposed to work this way. You are not supposed to be patient and wait your turn. If things don't go your way, you don't dig in, you don't tough it out, you take the easy way out and transfer. Why take your time to build something when you can scatter the pieces, shortcut the process, and hopefully get lucky? Ken Seals' story at Texas Christian University, starting his first game at QB in the Valero Alamo Bowl last week (2 years after transferring from Vanderbilt University and starting 22 games in the SEC) was supposed to end with him being the backup QB. Life has a crazy way of working out... rarely in the ways we anticipate. Mid-December things changed, quickly, and the starting QB, wait for it, transferred. Ken's time was now, in the last game of his career, against 16th ranked University of Southern California. It was time to step up and either never pick up a bar tab in town the rest of your life... or fade into the background thinking about what could have been. What I love is Ken persevered and didn't quit because he wasn't named the starter, he didn't feel sorry for himself and take the quick fix to transfer... he stayed the course. By doing so, he got his turn and wrote his own script, leading the Frogs to an unforgettable comeback victory. It was epic, it was incredible, it was legendary. He was named MVP... representing the best of what sports has to offer. We know Ken personally, as he coached my son's Next Level Sports flag football team to two championships the last two spring seasons. But more importantly he became a friend of our family and role model to my son, giving him QB (and life) lessons along the way. My son and his team made a poster for him before the game that was an awesome, homemade way to show some love for what an impact he has made in young people's lives. We are so proud of the example 'Coach Ken' has set not only for our family, but for TCU and the entire Fort Worth community. He does things the right way, has an infectious positive energy about him, with a Faith that leads and guides the way. Life certainly has a funny way of working itself out. #TCU #Leadership

  • An unforgettable night on Saturday with the Golden State Warriors. Our Next Level athletes had the incredible opportunity to play where the pros play (scrimmaging on the court before tipoff), standing alongside the Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder during the national anthem, and competing during halftime. Experiences like these inspire our athletes to continue playing to be just like the legends they see on the court. Special thanks to Martin Wood for being on-site and capturing these memorable moments. We’re grateful for opportunities like this that continue to elevate our athletes both on and off the court. #NextLevel #GoldenStateWarriors #youthbasketball
