More than 3 million Americans live with emphysema, yet fewer than 1% receive interventional treatment. Emphysema is a progressive, debilitating lung condition and existing treatments today are often invasive, high-risk, or restricted to a subset of patients. Apreo Health is working to change that. The company’s BREATHE Airway Scaffold is a minimally invasive bronchial implant that gently opens damaged airways without collapsing or removing lung tissue – offering a safer, more broadly applicable option for patients. That combination of clinical rigor, thoughtful design, and real-world scalability is what drew us to the team. At Norwest, we invest in technologies that help redefine care. We’re proud to support Apreo’s mission to help more people breathe easier and live better. As a landscape ecologist, Harry Statter spent years studying how wildfires moved and spread. Eventually, he realized prevention alone wasn’t enough. We need automated defense, too. That idea led to Frontline Wildfire Defense, the company pioneering automated wildfire protection for homes and communities nationwide. Frontline’s system, recognized as a TIME’s Best Inventions of 2025, is the first in its class to combine design, hardware, software, and environmental data to create a proactive line of defense. It helps prevent ignition by automatically pre-wetting a property and its surroundings when fire conditions intensify. During the LA fires, Frontline’s system protected 59 homes with a 96% efficacy rate and validated what we believe is a fundamentally different approach to protecting people and property from wildfires. As Harry Statter explained to Jon Kossow, embers can travel over 20 miles from a wildfire. That’s why automation is essential; there will never be enough boots on the ground to defend every structure at once. Conversational AI is transforming how healthcare systems communicate and deliver care. To understand the landscape, we mapped out enterprise health systems utilizing AI across voice, chat, workflow, and automation tools. One thing is clear: real impact comes from depth, not just automation. Many solutions still focus on automating individual tasks, but the real opportunity lies in connecting patient history, identity, and communication across systems to deliver end-to-end resolution. At Norwest, we backed Hyro because it’s helping define what that future looks like — building enterprise-grade AI agents that bring clarity, connection, and repeatable ROI to healthcare. People deserve healthcare support that’s clear, connected, and fast. That’s why we’re backing Hyro, an enterprise-grade, no-code platform designed to deliver enterprise-grade AI agents that productize and streamline complex healthcare workflows. Health systems spend $24.8 billion each year on call centers and patient experience operations, but patients still face delays scheduling appointments, refilling prescriptions, and accessing information. Hyro tackles these pain points head-on by automating everyday interactions and integrating seamlessly with EHRs, CRMs, and contact centers. The result: smoother workflows for health systems and faster, more reliable care for patients. We’re proud to support founders Israel Krush and Rom Cohen as they build the next generation of intelligent healthcare communication. 🔗 Learn more about the investment from Assaf Harel and Jonathan Schwartz: https://norwest.co/hyro
