Our Speaker Series continues this January with Lisa Arnett, who will join our Executive Director Anjana Utarid on the Oasis Podcast for a powerful conversation on expanding opportunities for gifted youth in foster care. Going through the foster care system herself, Lisa lived in 32 different homes growing up. In this conversation, she shares the survival lessons, hard-earned perspective, and clarity that come from navigating systems not designed to support long-term potential. Her story is both unflinching and deeply hopeful, grounded in a mission to ensure the next generation of foster youth has access to stability, opportunity, and belief in what’s possible. We’re ringing in the new year with a new look! As Oasis Academy prepares to welcome our first class of students this year, we’ve updated our academy seal to reflect the structure, clarity, and long-term preparation our scholars will receive. This new design honors our four foundational schools of focus: STEM, Entrepreneurship, Arts, and Athletics For Oasis students, each of these will be more than a discipline. These will be pathways to understand their own capacity, to build confidence, and to begin shaping the world around them. They represent not just survival, but movement into strength, into identity, and into leadership. To understand the heart behind this work, and how it all began, we invite you to read a letter from our founder L.R. Fox , sharing the vision that continues to guide Oasis Academy at: https://lnkd.in/gtEt7Ktk

Oasis Academy reposted this
I’m honored to join Oasis Academy for their Speaker Series and the Oasis Podcast on January 21st. Having grown up in foster care and lived in over 30 homes, I’ve seen firsthand how much potential goes untapped when systems aren’t designed to support long-term growth. This conversation will focus on expanding opportunity for gifted youth in foster care and what becomes possible when stability, belief, and access are present. This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to stand with us in a movement of hope and transformation. Your gift today moves us closer to opening our doors and creating a true home for young people who are ready to thrive. As we prepare our first sites now, we're reminded of how important these safe, empowering homes will be for orphaned youth from around the world to discover their strength, grow in community, and shape their own futures. Our year-end goal is $1,000,000. We have already reached $494,000. Please join us by donating today to meet this goal - theoasisacademy.org/donate Every contribution lays a brick and brings to life a place where every child is safe, seen, and deeply belongs. We would be honored to have you as a partner in this work to unleash potential in the world.
