OACHC's President & CEO, Julie DiRossi-King, and Peggy Anderson, CEO of Third Street Family Health Services, testified before the Ohio Senate Medicaid Committee on Sub. HB96’s state operating budget for FY2026-2027. Testimony from both leaders covered critical investments included in the proposed budget for Ohio Primary Care Workforce Initiative, School Based Health Care, protecting 340B and Medicaid. As DiRossi-King noted: “Medicaid plays a vital role not only in supporting individual health but also in sustaining local economies by funding Community Health Centers and preventing higher downstream healthcare costs. Strengthening access to timely, appropriate, and cost-effective healthcare through CHCs makes Medicaid stronger and more fiscally responsible.” #ValueCHCs

We’re in Columbus today for the Ohio Association of Community Health Centers’ Spring conference and had a chance to meet a phenomenal leader and inspirational speaker. It was an honor to meet Mr. Maurice Clarett! I'm here with my Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sarah Hoehnen. Maurice made headlines more than 20 years ago as a young football legend from Ohio State. Although his career was cut short due to many life issues and incarceration, he still has an incredible story of resilience, humility, and hope. Truly inspiring. Maurice's journey reminds us that no challenge is insurmountable, and with determination, anyone can make it out in life and make a lasting impact. If you have some time, read about his journey. I'm going to carry his message forward in our work and lives!
