About us
In 1992, the Ohio Business Roundtable was established for one sole purpose: to improve Ohio’s business climate. Since its inception, the OBRT has worked with Ohio’s governors and legislative leaders to make Ohio more business-friendly and more competitive both nationally and internationally. The Roundtable is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization comprised of chief executive officers of many of Ohio’s largest, most successful companies. Because of the collective expertise and insight of OBRT members, the Roundtable is uniquely capable of bringing solutions to improve Ohio’s economic vitality and ensure that Ohio remains the ideal state in which to live, work and succeed.

We’re proud to have partnered with Jon Husted on Ohio’s benefits cliff pilot program and we’re encouraged to see him expanding that effort at the federal level with the Upward Mobility Act. This legislation tackles the “benefits cliff” that can discourage hardworking people from accepting promotions or increasing hours because a small pay raise could cost them vital government support. A major step forward for transparency and integrity in Ohio’s legal system. House Bill 105 strikes the right balance by improving transparency, protecting consumers, and strengthening confidence in Ohio’s courts. Thank you to Representative Meredith Craig, Representative Jim Thomas, and the bill’s champions for their thoughtful leadership in advancing this important reform. We appreciate the continued collaboration to advance responsible, commonsense policy for Ohio.
Yesterday was a good day. The Ohio House passed HB 105 (TPLF transparency) with bipartisan support! 👏 This is a major step forward in strengthening transparency and integrity within our courts. It brings much-needed visibility to third-party litigation funding and includes the strongest foreign ban in the nation. Under HB 105, foreign governments, foreign investors, and foreign actors will no longer be permitted to influence and invest in American courtrooms. I’m proud of the work that brought us to this point, and I look forward to working with our Senate colleagues to get this across the finish line.
