We were happy to cohost this great event and bring important public power discussions to Omaha. 💡
President @ Large Public Power Council | Advocate for Reliable, Affordable, Clean Energy in DC | Former Utility CEO, CFO and Investment Banker
The Large Public Power Council wrapped up our Fall CEO meeting in Omaha, hosted by Javier Fernandez of Omaha Public Power District, Tom Kent of Nebraska Public Power District, and Emeka Anyanwu of Lincoln Electric System. The group toured OPPD’s brand new Standing Bear Lake Station, featuring nine state-of-the-art Wärtsilä reciprocating engines delivering 162 MW of flexible, fast-start power. During the meeting, CEOs approved LPPC’s 2026 policy priorities, advancing our work on private-use reform, permitting reform, EPA regulations, and other key issues that ensure reliable, affordable, and sustainable power for our communities. Grateful to our Nebraska hosts for their leadership and hospitality and for reminding us how successful an all public power state looks in action.
