✨ A MAJOR WIN for New Orleans! ✨ On October 11, voters showed up for justice and 74.6% voted YES to pass the Fair Chance Amendment. 🗳️💥 This historic change adds “conviction history” to New Orleans’ Bill of Rights protections, alongside race, religion, disability, and gender. It ensures people are truly considered based on their skills and qualifications, not automatically denied because of past convictions. People with conviction histories are now protected from unfair treatment by the city and its contractors. We’re proud to welcome the 10th cohort of Operation Restoration’s Lab Assistant Program (LAP)! These women, all impacted by incarceration, have started an 8-week training being led by a licensed medical technologist. This program prepares them for careers in lab settings and supports them in obtaining state certification. This is what opportunity looks like!
