Since joining PacifiCorp in 2011, Janet Uribe has built a career defined by growth and connection. She began in the Portland call center, taking on several roles before make a pivot into the joint use department. Passionate about building community, Janet helps lead Our Familia, an employee resource group that fosters inclusion, celebrates Hispanic and Latino culture and provides a space for employees to connect and be heard. For Janet, the group is more than an ERG, it’s a way to support others and represent voices like her own. “Being part of Our Familia gives me the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations, learn from the experiences of others and actively participate in making a difference in the culture of our company,” she says. 👋Meet Baltazar Guzman, senior compliance analyst and proud member of Our Familia, PacifiCorp’s employee resource group that celebrates Hispanic and Latino heritage. As we honor Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15–Oct. 15), we’re excited to share his story. Baltazar began his career with PacifiCorp right out of high school as a contract employee and has since held several roles across the company, from documentation control and protection and control to asset management. Those experiences shaped his journey to his current role in compliance, where he enjoys staying connected with teams across PacifiCorp. With family roots in Caguas, Puerto Rico, and an upbringing in Detroit surrounded by rich traditions, Baltazar continues to pass his heritage on to his children through food, travel and stories. “I want my kids to hear the music, smell the flavors and see the people. It’s important to me to keep the spirit of their ancestors alive within them,” he says.
