It takes teamwork to upgrade technology. Earlier this month, the US Army Product Director Combat Terrain Information Systems (PD CTIS) partnered with United States Marine Corps engineers to validate new features developed to modernize the Engineer Field Reconnaissance (ENFIRE) Kit at the Technology Concept Experiment (TCE) 25.2 held at Camp Pendelton. For the CTIS Team, the TCE represented an incredible opportunity to assess advances in process automation through sensor fusion and integrate with fielded and experimental capabilities in partnership with the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and the Marines. ENFIRE is fielded to both U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps Combat Engineers. ONR sponsors semi-annual TCEs to assess commercial and government technology applications towards littoral and surf zone mine counter measures and other expeditionary combat engineering challenges. On this National POW/MIA Recognition Day, we honor the courage of those who endured captivity and the sacrifice of those who never returned home. We remain committed to remembering their service and ensuring their legacy is never forgotten. #ServeWithHonor #Remember
PM Electronic Warfare & Cyber (PM EW&C) took part in the recent two-week Bronco Blitz exercise leading up to a future Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center unit rotation. Soldiers, including electromagnetic spectrum (EMS) managers and EW specialists, engaged with the Spectrum Situational Awareness System (S2AS) to gain a better understanding of their EMS signature. “This event enables us to get our system into the hands of Soldiers to learn about different concepts of employing the system, which will help how we iterate,” said MAJ Megan Bridges. “Soldier feedback is essential to delivering what is needed in the field – and doing so at speed.” Among the system’s capabilities, the S2AS can sense, detect, and report in near real time a command post’s EMS signature, and sources of electromagnetic interference (EMI) from coalition, partner, and enemy spectrum use. The S2AS also provided the means for participating Army units to plan for upcoming readiness initiatives. #USArmy #BeAllYouCanBe #ArmyModernization
