I shared my formal perspective on this week’s Section 45Z update below and wanted to add a brief personal note here as well. At the end of the day, conversations like this matter most because of what they mean for growers. Our focus remains on supporting farmers with practical tools and innovation that help them operate with confidence season after season. I really enjoyed speaking with Nicole Heslip about how biological nitrogen is becoming part of the conversation in corn silage production. In this recent feature with Brownfield Ag News, we talk about how incorporating Pivot Bio into silage programs can support both yield and feed value. Appreciate Nicole for helping bring this topic forward for the broader ag industry!
Silage production is driven by both yield and feed value, and biological nitrogen is emerging as a way to support both. In this recent feature with Brownfield Ag News, Chad Kimmelshue, PhD shares how Pivot Bio is helping deliver more above-ground biomass and improved milk production potential. Thank you to Nicole Heslip for highlighting how biological nitrogen is creating new opportunity in corn silage systems. After last night’s celebration, I wanted to take a moment to say how proud I am that Pivot Bio has been named Grand Farm Partner of the Year, as part of Emerging Prairie’s 2026 1 Million Thanks Awards. This recognition means a lot because it reflects the work we’re doing together to advance agriculture innovation and the real-world impact of science-driven crop nutrition solutions. I remember in 2019 sitting with Greg Tehven and Jake Joraanstad when Greg started this idea. What an amazing organization it has become. Thank you to Emerging Prairie and Grand Farm for the honor, and for being outstanding partners. Most of all, thank you to the Pivot Bio team. What drives us is simple: helping farmers grow stronger, more profitable crops with solutions they can count on, season after season. On behalf of the entire Pivot team, thank you to Emerging Prairie for this recognition. https://lnkd.in/eQFuEiDH

I am excited to see the Washington Post highlight the groundbreaking work of Dr. Mariangela Hungria, whose leadership and scientific persistence have helped advance biological nitrogen from promise to practice. We also appreciate the spotlight on Pivot Bio; the global technology and commercial leader in biological nitrogen fixation. We have advanced from theory to now real world applications on millions of acres across America - delivering solutions that are the highest performing sources of nitrogen in the world and at the lowest cost for farmers. We are proud to say that a large number of farmers have been with us from our very first commercial season more than half a decade ago, and that number of farms seeing incredible results continues to grow every year, now encompassing millions of acres. But as Iowa Corn said - not every field can be treated the same, and our team of agronomists work diligently with some of the top land-grant universities in the country and with growers directly to make sure that we take those field conditions into account when making our recommendations across the platform of products a grower uses. We are using the latest technology, science and AI to be more prescriptive to ensure higher yields and world-class performance. What Dr. Hungria says is true: biologicals have the potential to change agriculture for the betterment of farmers, and that change is happening now. I had the privilege of sitting alongside global innovators at this year's World Food Prize, serving on a panel and judging the Innovate for Impact Challenge. The experience reinforced something we’ve believed and built toward for the last 15 years: real progress happens when rigorous science moves from the lab to the field at scale. (Thomas Vilsack) That has been our focus from the start. From first discovery to those millions of acres of corn, other cereal grains, and now cotton, biological nitrogen is no longer theoretical. The science and performance of our products have been validated as an extremely effective source of nitrogen https://lnkd.in/gZBR3Wa6. This year alone, our teams launched four new products, including the 3rd generation of nitrogen-fixing technologies in corn, and the first ever products for sorghum and cotton, supporting food, fuel, and fiber systems with solutions that work in real-world farming conditions from North America, to Brazil and even Africa through a partnership with MIT. As we look ahead to final regulatory approvals in Brazil, we’re energized by the opportunity to make available commercially our technology in one of the world’s most important agricultural regions. We have an obligation to do better by our farmers. And when innovation is built with their needs in mind, impact follows. https://lnkd.in/g8DCbysR
