This month, Playa Hotels & Resorts proudly inaugurated our first solar panel installation across our entire portfolio at Hilton La Romana in the #DominicanRepublic — marking a major milestone in our commitment to sustainable hospitality. With over 1,000 solar panels now in operation, the resort is projected to generate 868,000 kWh of 100% renewable energy annually, significantly reducing our environmental impact. But our efforts don’t stop there. Hilton La Romana is also home to a variety of impactful sustainability initiatives: 🌱 A food-to-table garden that supplies fresh ingredients to our kitchens and serves as an educational space for guests and local students 🐝 An expanding apiary that supports the local bee population and provides honey to the resort 🌊 A partnership with Fun de Mar to research and restore coral reefs just off our shore 🏫 Collaborations with local schools to improve facilities and teach children about sustainable agriculture through on-site gardens 💧 The installation of water bottle refill stations to help reduce single-use plastic waste We're proud to create unforgettable guest experiences while caring deeply for our planet and communities.
