It’s always a great day when Squiggles brings confetti to welcome our newest traveling exhibit! Today, alongside our tremendous sponsor Cencora, the Museum officially debuted: AlegreMENTE | Happy Brain: Celebrating Early Connections. Offered in both English and Spanish, this exhibit transports visitors into a whimsical forest filled with animals and families of all kinds to support early brain development in young children. A heartfelt thank you to the children who helped welcome this new exhibit with our partners, Cencora! Discover the power of learning through play by experiencing AlegreMENTE now through January 4, 2026.

About us
Since 1976, Please Touch Museum has been the Children’s Museum of Philadelphia. Our museum was the first in the nation whose target audience was families with children seven and younger. We have grown into one of the best children’s museums in the nation, have become experts in play and have had our programs for under served families in the region nationally recognized. Please Touch Museum’s mission is to “Change a child’s life as they discover the power of learning through play.” Our Museum is where lifelong learning begins, curiosity is encouraged and every child is always welcome. Underpinning this mission is a promise, “To be a leader in 21st century children’s museums as a key resource of learning through play, and expand our reach and impact in the Philadelphia region and beyond.” To fulfill this promise, Please Touch Museum will continue to be inclusive, open and accessible to all communities

We’re reflecting on an incredible summer of Ready-Set-School at Please Touch Museum! Across three FREE Community Days sponsored by Independence Blue Cross, Independence Blue Cross Foundation and Keystone First, we welcomed more than 11,000 children and caregivers to learn, play, and prepare for the year ahead. To help kids step confidently into the school year, families enjoyed hands-on activities, live performances, author readings, healthy food demos, and resources from community partners. Plus, families received: 🎒 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies 📚 1,500 copies of "Way Past Shame" donated by author Hallee Adelman, continuing her legacy of supporting literacy and learning at the Museum 📘 Additional free books from Literacy & More and Block Captains Reading Association 🎲 Hundreds of educational games distributed by Literacy & More 📖 5,000 Ready. Set. School. Activity Guides created by Museum Learning Educators, filled with literacy, math, and social-emotional activities based on the Museum’s Four C’s: creativity, confidence, compassion & curiosity Read more about the impact: https://lnkd.in/eT6irhWE 🍎

Thank you Rosa Cartagena and The Philadelphia Inquirer for covering the making of the Abbott Elementary episode featuring a field trip to Please Touch Museum. We especially loved Ms. Schemmenti's line, "Outside of an Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Flyers, Philadelphia 76ers game, or any other live sporting event, this is the most exciting place to go in all of Philadelphia." We encourage everyone to visit Please Touch Museum with their children, and Abbott fans can use their eagle eyes to discover a small exhibit modification we left in place after filming — and spot other fabulous photo ops in the Museum that mirror the magical moments featured in the episode. Make a reservation to visit PTM today, and if you missed the Please Touch Museum Abbott Elementary episode, it's available to stream on Hulu. https://lnkd.in/es22vsEh
