Earlier this week, Ashley Dalton Forsyth and Andrew Whitmire, PMP visited the Special Olympics Global Headquarters in Washington, D.C. and met with the inspiring youth leaders of the Global Youth Leadership Council (GYLC). The GYLC was created to evolve Special Olympics youth work from being for youth to being by youth. This diverse group of young leaders, with and without intellectual disabilities, are shaping programs at the global, regional, national, and local levels while advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Through our partnership, PMIEF equips these leaders with project management skills to organize inclusive events, launch unified sports teams, and even rebuild communities, as demonstrated by Special Olympics Ukraine. A special thank you to Jacqueline Jodl and Kimber Goodwin from Special Olympics for the invitation.
