About us

Today the Port Everglades Association serves as a bridge between public and private interests to facilitate the Port's achievement of its rightful place in the first rank of America's ports of ocean commerce. Consisting of port cruise, cargo and petroleum tenants; contractors, vendors and other members of the Port Everglades business community, the Association conducts a monthly luncheon general membership meeting on the first Friday of each month with presentations by featured speakers on current port-related issues and events.

  • TURNING THE TIDE, 2025 Wednesday, October 15, 2025.  Next week is our Annual Golf Tournament!  Register your foursome names now!   Port Everglades Members come out for the fun even if you are not playing! Port Everglades Association's Annual Seaport Golf Tournament, Plantation Preserve.  9am shot gun starts and the grand event includes a full, hot breakfast starting 7am and fancy barbecue lunch following the round. If anyone is lucky enough to hit a Hole in One — the prize is a Cruise on beautiful Silversea Cruises. McAllister Towing along with Florida International Terminal (FIT) are the Banner Sponsors for the popular event. Congratulation to Port Everglades Association Board Member, King Ocean Services Limited (Cayman Islands) Inc. who has reaffirmed its long-standing partnership with Port Everglades by extending its Marine Terminal Lease and Operating Agreement through 2035. The cargo shipping line has operated at the port since 1994 and is critical in moving goods between S. Florida and the Caribbean, Central America and South America. With the addition of the new property, King Ocean's final leasehold will total 57.8 acres within the secured port.   • Thank you to all who joined our sold-out October 3 luncheon at the Lauderdale Yacht Club! We were honored to welcome FDOT Secretary Jared W. Perdue, P.E., who shared exciting updates on transportation projects shaping Broward’s future. Special thanks to Coree Cuff Lonergan, CEO of Broward County Transit, for introducing Secretary Perdue, and to Port Everglades CEO & Port Director Joseph Morris for his closing remarks. We are also grateful to have had the support and presence of the Port Director of Miami and the Port Director of Palm Beach, reinforcing the importance of regional collaboration.   • Port Everglades Association Updates and Highlights End-of-Year Celebrations: On December 6, 2024, Port Everglades Association’s End-of-Year Business Program and Holiday Luncheon was a full-house and a festive time for the end of year. Nearly 400 toys/gifts were collected to be distributed to the four Broward County recipient organizations. Participants were treated to songs performed by The New Generation School singers. Port Everglades Association Leadership Excellence Recognition awards were presented to Bill Burke with Paradise Bank, Patrick Collins with CBI, and Port Director Joe Morris. Special 45th Anniversary Awards were presented to Mario Otero, Veronica Ruiz with Balearia Caribbean Ferry and to Vicki Johnson with Princess Cruises. The Port Everglades Association highest recognition — The Lifetime Achievement Award, was bestowed upon Betty Ann and Fred Rogacki with IWS. Happy Holidays to all. Upcoming Events: January 10, 2025: Kick off the year with the "Powerful Connections" Business Program Luncheon at Lauderdale Yacht Club, featuring updates from Florida Power & Light Co. and Broward County Transit on sustainability and transit advancements. April 11, 2025: Coast Guard Foundation's 29th Gala Event at Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort, honoring Port Everglades Association’s Executive Director, Lori Baer. May 30, 2025: Annual Economic Engine Performance Report, featuring a panel of Broward’s top transportation and tourism leaders. RSVP Now Port Updates: Port Everglades recently received over $57 million in federal grants to support sustainability initiatives, including shore power and emissions reduction projects. Community Highlights: Seafarers’ House, during December helps bring joy to Seafarers handing out as many as 3,000 wrapped "shoeboxes" filled with toiletries and holiday cheer to seafarers from all over the world.
