Did you know there's more to AI scribing than just fast notes? Rehab therapists use AI scribing in multiple ways to streamline their workflows and provide patient-focused care. Here's what Sidekick AI scribing users are doing to make life in and out of the clinic easier: 1. They use auto-note, Sidekick's ambient listening mode, to turn entire patient conversations into compliant notes. So when the visit is done, their notes are too. 2. Therapists use Sidekick's smart dictation to dictate specific sections of the note directly, think recapping a visit or dictating objective measures and interventions. 3. They leverage a real-time CPT checker to ensure the right CPT codes are selected for each intervention. It's faster, more accurate, and less stressful. 4. They ask Sidekick's chatbot lots of patient-specific questions, like "write me a letter of medical necessity for this patient", or "what are some good closed-chain upper extremity exercises for this patient with shoulder impingement?" 5. They try it for free. Rehab therapists take advantage of Sidekick's 2-week free trial so they can see firsthand how fast, compliant, and accurate their notes can be before committing. Remember Apple's 2009 campaign, "there's an app for that"? Today's version of the same messaging is "there's AI for that," which can either be helpful or really overwhelming. So if you're in rehab therapy and unsure of where to start, how AI is supposed to help you, or even what to do with many solutions out there, here's a good starting point: 1. Use AI analytics to eliminate manual chart reviews, which are time-consuming and limiting. The likelihood that you'll identify your real risks from a very small sample of charts is tiny, but AI analytics can audit every note, every chart to make sure you have full visibility across your patient volume. 2. The fastest way to improve the accuracy of your CPT coding and the appropriate use of higher-value codes is with real-time CPT help. 3. AI scribing uses ambient listening and smart dictation to turn patient-provider conversation into clean, compliant notes. It's truly a game changer. Look for a specialty-specific solution that prioritizes accuracy and compliance first. 4. Back to those analytics—pinpoint your compliance risk to the location, provider, or even component level so you can focus your improvement efforts exactly where they need to go instead of leaning on broad education efforts that many of your staff don't need. 5. Look at sign-off times AND sign-off times by time of day. When you see therapists signing-off late at night or really early in the morning (2:00 am?! 🥴 ) you know you've got someone who is at risk for burnout. Intervene early and get them the support they need to stay and thrive. All five of these strategies can be executed using AI scribing and AI analytics. What else are you using AI for in your rehab therapy clinic? Drop us a comment.

28 years as a PT—and still loving the work. That's the power behind AI scribing. Chad Jarrett says, "After being a PT for 28 years, this has literally changed my life. Getting 20 charts done in a day and having nothing lingering over your head at night or over the weekend is a great feeling!" Clinician burnout isn’t a badge of honor—it’s a warning sign. Documentation doesn’t have to steal your time, energy, or joy. With the right AI tools, therapists are: ✅ Finishing charts on time ✅ Getting evenings and weekends back ✅ Reconnecting with why they chose this profession Let’s talk about how to get you there, too. #PhysicalTherapy #HealthcareInnovation #WorkLifeBalance #AIinHealthcare #LeadershipInPT

What makes a SOAP note good? Here's a high-level checklist: ✍ Clearly documents the patient's narrative and clinical presentation 📐 Include precise, objective measurements 🧠 Demonstrate clinical reasoning clearly in the assessment 📎 Provide specific, actionable plans 🎯 Be concise yet thorough, avoiding unnecessary details 🏥 Use standardized medical terminology consistently ⚕️Leverage evidence-based practice 🎒 Include patient education It's a good list, but not always easy to hit. Under-documentation and over-documentation are both easy pitfalls for therapists to fall into, as is using too much copy-forward and missing the justification in your notes. AI scribing is helping therapists account for these things, creating great notes, avoiding common errors, and getting it all done in less than half the time. Win, win, win. 🌟 🌟🌟 Learn more on our website.

Yesterday, Kelly Brown, PT, DPT, OCS hosted a killer conversation with Chad Madden from Breakthrough about how to grow a physical therapy practice without doctor referrals. Here's the recap and major takeaways from their conversation. You can watch the replay at predictionhealth.com (under on-demand webinars) ⚠️ The Big Problem: Reimbursements are down 17% since 2008. Costs to provide care have gone up. → This = shrinking profitability. Private practices need to create more demand and shift to direct-to-consumer (D2C) marketing to survive. 🧩 The 4 Key Patient Acquisition Channels: (They didn't focus on physician referrals – they’re down 53% since 2003.) 🔁 Reactivations Reach out to former patients. Set “recheck” appointments 2–6 months after discharge. Best therapists have a 70% reactivation rate. Use email/text/direct mail; texting currently sees best response. 🗣️ Word-of-Mouth Referrals Ask for referrals right after a patient shares a win. 3-step script: Celebrate the win → Ask “Who do you know?” → Ask how to help them. Keep it simple and personal. 🤝 Partner Referrals Target large employers who offer your best-paying insurance. Partner through lunch-and-learns, health fairs, etc. Also target gyms, yoga studios, municipalities, and community orgs. 📢 Cold Traffic Only try this after you’ve optimized the above channels. Paid ads (Meta/Google) are useful for new clinics or scaling but require trained staff to convert leads. Conversion = the most overlooked step. 📊 Breakthrough Can Help: Chad’s 6 clinics: $10M/year, 400+ visits/week from cold traffic alone. 50% of profit from cash-based services. Last quarter: +$55K in cash services. Breakthrough Pro software automates all this—email/text campaigns, tracking, attribution, and reactivation workflows. 🧠 Pro Tips from Chad: Don’t go straight to paid ads—start with warm leads. Track everything: source of every patient. Don’t “check the box” on marketing—actually measure what works. Send value (like quick videos) and follow up only with engaged recipients to avoid spamming. 💡 Tools Mentioned: Breakthrough Pro: All-in-one marketing system for PT clinics. Comes with 100+ prebuilt campaigns. Can now be fully customized (as of 2025). 💬 Final Thoughts: Private practice owners don’t have time. Having a tested, automated system can bring in patients, boost revenue, and avoid burnout. Marketing isn't optional anymore—it’s survival.

Thank you, MEG Business Management and Brian Gallagher, PT., for hosting Kelly Brown, PT, DPT, OCS, on your podcast! Kelly and Brian covered a lot in their conversation about AI tools, including the burning question, "will AI replace our jobs?" Kelly says there are AI solutions that are adjunct to clinical reasoning, but it isn't the AI that will replace therapist jobs; it's the therapist who uses AI in his or her practice that will replace the therapist who doesn't. There's too much in this awesome conversation to cover in a social post, so go check it out under podcasts on predictionhealth.com.
