Are you curious if your concrete driveway, sidewalk or other surface could use some protection? Here's a really simple trick to find out: Pour a little water over the surface. If the water beads up or puddles on the surface, the concrete has likely already been treated at some point. If it wets out and soaks into the surface, then the surface is ready for an application of Saltguard, Saltguard WB or Saltguard VOC. Tim Manning (aka Tennessee Tim) says he only uses PROSOCO water repellents, but that wasn't always the case. "We did a job seven years ago with a competitor's product the supply house had recommended. Unfortunately, it cost me a lot of money and labor in the end. It took 5 coats to what 1 coat of PROSOCO normally takes. Since then, only PROSOCO is used on my projects!"
