Congratulations to #SpaceTechCohort graduate Obruta on their $1M from the Canadian Space Agency | Agence spatiale canadienne! #spacetechcohort #qstation
Obruta Secures $1,000,000 from the Canadian Space Agency | Agence spatiale canadienne to advance our turn-key and autonomous RPOD system! We’re thrilled to announce that Obruta has been awarded a $1,000,000 contribution through the Canadian Space Agency's Space Technology Development Program! This funding will accelerate the development of our vision-based system for autonomous spacecraft Rendezvous, Proximity Operations, and Docking—the RPOD Kit! Under this project titled "Modular and Scalable RPOD System: Validation and Testing for Next-Generation Space Missions", we’re tackling the final integration and testing challenges that remain on the RPOD Kit's development roadmap. This project builds upon our extensive 17 month RPOD software on-orbit test campaign which concluded in summer 2025, and it supports the development of a new world-class RPOD test facility so we can continue testing like we fly. Once complete, the RPOD Kit will make satellite servicing simpler and significantly more affordable. It provides the underlying capabilities to revolutionize space operations, making spaceflight safer and more sustainable through missions including space debris removal, satellite refueling, and enhanced space domain awareness, all powered by our cutting-edge AI vision system. With this support, Obruta will expand our talented team, raise the technology readiness level of the RPOD Kit, and accelerate our development timelines. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Canadian Space Agency for their continued investment in Obruta's groundbreaking technology. Check out the VLA's new prototype antenna at this weekend's open house. Definitely one of the coolest places in New Mexico!
Have you had a chance to see the brand-new ngVLA prototype antenna in-person yet? 📡 You'll be able to check it out at the VLA Open House this Saturday, October 11! In addition to guided tours, the Open House will have several talks, family-friendly educational activities, and food trucks. The event is free to attend but advance registration is required: https://lnkd.in/dyH7GUuB --- What is the ngVLA? The Next-Generation Very Large Array (ngVLA) is a proposed, much more capable radio telescope array inspired by the NSF NRAO's Very Large Array. The ngVLA project proposal calls for 263 dishes reaching across North America (with most in the US Southwest) that will work together to enable new astronomical discoveries.
