From AI to Sustainability - What a Day at Ranpak! Today, I had the pleasure of joining the “From AI to Sustainability” workshop at Ranpak HQ in the Netherlands, a day dedicated to the future of logistics, automation, and packaging, powered by smart technologies and innovative minds. The agenda was packed with insights, and I truly appreciated how each speaker brought a unique perspective to the conversation: Ulrich Toft from Caja Robotics kicked things off by diving into how AI-driven software is shaping advanced automation solutions – a powerful look into what’s possible with smarter robotics. Paul Spronken of Ranpak addressed the critical intersection of packaging, AI, and evolving EU regulations, essential for building future-proof operations. Michele Calabrese from AGILOX demonstrated how AMRs are pushing the boundaries of scalable, flexible intralogistics. Remco Buurman of NDL | HIDC offered a forward-looking view on innovation in the Dutch logistics landscape, reinforcing why the Netherlands remains a key hub. Florian Brielles from Fives Intralogistics shared valuable insights on system integration and interoperability, reminding us how collaboration between technologies is key. Andrej Schild from Meta Storage Solutions presented a practical and strategic session on storage and shelving solutions, highlighting how automation can drive real efficiency in warehouse environments. Roald Valen of Pickr.ai wrapped up with a thought-provoking take on why robotic picking still has room to grow and what could change that. The Ranpak Experience Center tour was another highlight, seeing these technologies in action really tied everything together. Thanks to all the speakers and organizers for a great event! A customer asked us for a more compact solution for their sustainable void fill needs. Working with our distribution partner and our engineering team, we provided a custom mount with a reduced footprint at their pack stations. To minimize the impact of changing from a competitor to Ranpak, the site manager asked at to start at 5 pm. Two of our equipment techs, our local territory manager, our distribution partner, and I teamed up to install the FillPak TTCs.
