A domestic violence call. A frantic victim. No clear location. In situations like this, responders often go in blind. But 911 telecommunicator Melanie Voorhis combined RapidSOS data with quick, creative questioning to turn a nearly impossible call into a life saved — and an arrest. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and this story is yet another reminder of how seconds save lives. From first ring to safe resolution: just minutes. Thank you, Melanie, for your incredible work. #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth

Home healthcare professionals alone at a patient's house. Retail workers closing a store alone at the end of the night. Traditionally, a lone worker was someone who worked in physical isolation, like a field technician, park ranger, or a long-haul truck driver, but that's changed. With the growth of remote work, millions of people have become lone workers in their own homes. Anyone out of sight or earshot of a colleague, whether that’s for minutes or hours, can be considered a lone worker. SafetyCulture is pushing the boundaries of safety for lone workers past compliance toward proactive safety, identifying potential situations before they escalate into an incident. Our partnership with SafetyCulture is enabling faster response, fewer missed incidents, and creates a trusted safety net for workers. The ROI is clear when you look at worker sentiment and employee retention. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/g8HpU9g8 #WorkerSafety

On this National First Responders Day, we're recognizing the extraordinary work of the Germantown, TN first responders who used RapidSOS breadcrumbs and Axon integration to expose a suspect who was trying to divert officers. Germantown, TN Police Department Lieutenant Amy Neebling's quick thinking uncovered that a supposed road-rage fistfight that was called in was actually an attempt to mislead officers and divert attention away from the caller. The dispatch team connected the dots, cross-referencing RapidSOS demographic and emergency contact data to find the man’s name. They located the man's abandoned vehicle containing burglary tools and narcotics, and were able to issue a warrant for his arrest. It is a profound privilege to support your work. Thank you. We are truly grateful for your bravery and commitment to keeping our communities safe. Happy National First Responders Day! 🚑 👩🚒 👮♂️☎️ Read the full story on the Germantown team's life-saving work: https://lnkd.in/g8MGENsP #NationalFirstRespondersDay

90% of a crash is over in seconds. Don't wait minutes for help. Our partnership with SiriusXM Connect leverages telematics data to create a proactive safety foundation. By feeding data like impact speed and rollover detection to 911, they enable first responders to arrive on the scene ready for severe trauma. Safety is a foundation, not a feature. See how they achieved nationwide scale and saved a life with accurate data: https://lnkd.in/ge758bYf #AutomotiveTech #SafetyInnovation

Your phone rings. Fireworks complaint. Car alarm. Noise complaint. Your team is on a life-or-death mission every day. But how much time are they spending on calls that aren't genuine emergencies? Rising call volumes and staffing shortages are crushing ECCs. Manual processing of low-acuity calls pulls focus from critical incidents where seconds matter. What if you could reclaim thousands of hours a year? RapidSOS UNITE's non-emergency call automation reduces workload entirely. HARMONY — our AI built by and for public safety — autonomously handles routine calls from start to finish, routing them to the right departments and creating Digital Alerts in your CAD system. No human intervention needed. This isn't a chatbot. HARMONY intelligently escalates when it detects emergency keywords, confirms critical details, and protects caller privacy. One agency saved over 1,600 hours of staff time annually. That's time redirected to genuine emergencies where focused telecommunicators save lives. "It is not enough for AI to exist as a box that can be checked, or as a bullet point that decorates a pitch deck. Instead, the value is realized when AI is custom-fit to actual systems, uniquely mapped to established workflows, and rigorously tuned for the day-to-day needs of frontline teams." RapidSOS CTO and EVP Zach LaValley recently discussed what true progress and innovation looks like in the public safety sector with The AI Journal. He explains why AI innovation needs to focus on enhancing the capabilities and wellbeing of telecommunicators and frontline teams, and less on trends. Thank you to G100, Secretary Mike Pompeo, and the incredible group of Fortune 500 CISOs/CSOs for the critical discussion on the role of emergency response in homeland security and national defense. RapidSOS co-founder and CEO Michael Martin spoke last week about the urgent mission we share: modernizing emergency response. As the frontline of national defense, public safety professionals need technology that matches the complexity of the connected world. This transformation is only possible through partnership. We've built RapidSOS together with the public safety community, turning disparate data into actionable intelligence at scale.

"I responded to these calls, and I unintentionally had failed victims in the past by not knowing how to respond, not knowing how to provide resources, how to use trauma informed care." Jim Schmidt spent 25 years as a firefighter, EMT, and dispatcher, believing his extensive experience had prepared him for anything. That armor shattered when his daughter Gabby Petito was murdered in a case of domestic violence that captivated the world. Now, Schmidt has transformed his devastating loss into a mission to fill critical training gaps in emergency response through the Gabby Petito Foundation. On this powerful episode of the Safety Gap podcast, Jim, Ricardo Martinez II and Karin Marquez, ENP, CMCP discuss how technology can provide discreet resources to victims and why breaking down barriers between agencies is essential for coordinated response. 🎧 Tune in: https://lnkd.in/gSg9Mpar

This is the mission in action. The moment Jeff Freed met the Edwardsburg, MI first responders who saved his life after a fiery crash is a profound reminder that real-time data is the difference between chaos and control. Together, humans and AI are transforming real-time data into the intelligence needed to save more lives. Thank you to the 911 telecommunicator who fielded the automatic iPhone notification and dispatched the call in just 13 life-saving seconds. That is the kind of precision that powers the entire public safety system. https://lnkd.in/gNm_2gpd

The strength of a community is second to none! Over the last 2 days I have been able to be part of a great production opportunity with other first responders in the Community to help a company called Rapidsos recreate an incident scene we handle earlier this summer. What a great experience to be able to watch and be apart of filming a commerical and case study. Shout out to Rapidsos for choosing our community to represent. Can't wait for the fi al product!
