Reading School District Chief Financial Officer Wayne Gehris participated in a press conference on Thursday, urging the state legislature to resolve the ongoing budget stalemate. School districts across the Commonwealth, including Reading, have not received any state education funding that is critically needed to educate and feed students. We are proud to announce that Nate Ross, Director of Communications, in collaboration with David Hall of Lone Cricket Productions, has received two Awards of Excellence from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) as part of the 2025 Publications & Digital Media Excellence Awards. The first award-winning project, "The Knights’ Keep," highlighted a vital new space at Reading High School dedicated to supporting unaccompanied youth and students facing housing instability by providing a safe, welcoming environment and access to basic needs. The second honored piece, "We "R" Reading," served as a motivational video to energize and inspire educators ahead of the 2024–2025 school year, celebrating the power and purpose of the Reading School District community. Both projects will be recognized at the NSPRA 2025 National Seminar during the Annual Meeting and Celebration of Achievement on Sunday, July 20, in Washington, D.C..
