    Untangling climate funding from capitalism.

The most effective activists, organisers, and impact entrepreneurs never studied sustainability. They studied their communities. Human and non-human. They learned from solving the problems in front of them not from hypothetical, what-if, scenarios rooted at some vague point in the future. They learned through designing solutions not spreadsheets. Forget LCAs, complicated ESG metrics, and reporting frameworks. Solve the problem in front of you, deeply, … …and benefits will cascade. 🎶 “𝐖𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐫” Following #NYClimateWeek, Chad Frischmann turns a familiar metaphor into a powerful call for unity. Instead of dismissing the “Choir” as an echo chamber, he argues it’s exactly what our fragmented climate movement needs: to re-tune, reconnect, and sing in harmony. From scientists to Indigenous leaders, investors to farmers, Frischmann shows why coherence, collaboration, and shared language are the only way to face the polycrisis ahead as protectors of life. 👉 Read the full reflection on why our greatest climate strength lies in collective rhythm: https://lnkd.in/dwqd5bTD #Regeneration #ClimateAction #Collaboration #EthicalGovernance #illuminemVoices 🌐 News: https://illuminem.com/ 📊 Data: https://lnkd.in/eHe8axSA

Working in #climate and #regeneration is like marching uphill with a heavy backpack that gets heavier with each step. You end up carrying all the small and large denials, losses, and setbacks we see around us on a daily basis. A backpack of grief and frustration and anger. It's a sign you care, but an unhelpful one. You need to sit down, take the backpack off, and keep going with a lighter step. Not in an ignorant or blindly optimistic way. Just in the knowledge that dropping burdens too big for you will allow you to stand taller, speak from a place of confidence, and show up with all your energy. The comments, messages, and offers to collaborate have been both humbling and heartening. Thank you to everyone who reached out—framework builders, researchers, and systems thinkers who saw themselves reflected in this vision. The past month has been a whirlwind—New York Climate Week, the gathering of the Collabortative for Systemic Climate Action, and wrapping up Cohort 5 of the RegenIntel Fellowship. Amid this beautiful complexity, one truth keeps resurfacing: 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹. The desire to weave our frameworks together, to create 𝘤𝘰𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 rather than 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, is stronger than ever. That’s what 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 is about—not another “One Ring” framework, but a quilt. A living, evolving tapestry that honors the diversity of tools, models, and wisdoms we already have. If you commented, messaged, or simply want to be part of this collective effort, we’d love to hear from you. Please reach out at thepatchwork@regenintel.earth and join the Fellowship of the Quilt! We’ll be following up soon with more details on the plan, gatherings, and how to get involved. 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹. 𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴—𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.

I love frameworks. They help me navigate the beautifully complex systems I’ve spent the last 25 years immersed in—climate, ecology, and human diversity. Without them, the complexity can feel overwhelming. And overwhelm is real. It’s part of the work when you live inside systems change. Frameworks offer clarity, a way to translate the immensity into maps we can act on. But there’s a shadow side. Reductionism masquerading as reality can harden into veiled ignorance, perpetuating the very status quo we are trying to transform. Another danger comes when creators—or their followers—believe they’ve discovered the framework. The One. The newly invented wheel that will change everything. I call this the Sauron Principle—the illusion that one framework can, or should, “rule them all.” I am vehemently anti-Sauron. As a framework builder myself—the Drawdown Solutions Framework has become one of the world’s most referenced resources for climate action—I know firsthand both the power and peril of frameworks. The truth is, no single map is enough. Meaning lies in the diversity. Different contexts demand different combinations of tools. But as someone once quipped, “Frameworks are like toothbrushes. Everyone needs one, but no one wants to use someone else’s.” And it’s true. The proliferation of frameworks can be just as overwhelming as the complexity they’re meant to help us navigate. Every day my LinkedIn feed announces another: bold, branded, universal. Siloed, overlapping, and rarely speaking to each other, the inefficiency is staggering. Time wasted debating and resourcing which framework is “best,” rather than weaving them together for collective impact. That is why we are creating The Patchwork. The Patchwork is not the "One Ring". It’s a quilt—an evolving tapestry that stitches together the wisdom embedded in many frameworks, past and present. It is syncing, not supplanting. Acknowledging, not appropriating. It is NOT a unified approach to any one thing or every single thing, but a UNION of approaches to a better future. Its purpose is to make it easier for decision-makers, practitioners, and communities to draw on the frameworks they need—side by side, in dialogue, in context. To see both the overlaps and the distinctions. To reduce overwhelm without collapsing diversity. The Patchwork is being built as part of the Global Solutions Alliance, alongside RegenIntel and Project Peoples. It reflects the same values we hold across our work: integrity, collaboration, joyful inclusion, and systems-guided action. This is not about control. It’s about coherence. A union of approaches toward a regenerative future. The Patchwork is a collective effort. If you’re building frameworks—or simply overwhelmed by them—I invite you to reach out. Comment below and I'll DM you. Let’s weave together.

    Untangling climate funding from capitalism.

#Regenerative and #Climate education should be free. High-quality education, that is, not the weak stuff spouted by ChatGPT or Google. The kind of education that touches you, changes your worldview, and does more than just make you think. It makes you act. If we truly believe regeneration is so crucial to our sustained future on this planet then enclosing it behind paywalls is really contrary to the shared outcomes we need. So why do we charge $2,200 at RegenIntel for our Fellowship programme? This is a question we’ve struggled with. Undeniably it costs money to run the programme. Highly expert instructors need to earn a living, infrastructure is not free, and neither are our rents. Even harder is the undeniable fact that the people who need it most — committed activists, climate scientists, and startup founders — are those least able to afford it. Not only do they *need* it most… they are the most likely people to make a lasting *impact*. We’ve tried to balance this out by providing dozens of scholarships, free masterclasses, and public talks. But we’ve always wanted to go a step further. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲. The 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗴 lets sunlight cascade into the forest and nourishes new seedlings when it decomposes. Similarly, 2025's tiny deaths (including #careertransitions) have opened up space for new light to enter, allowing former life to serve as inputs for growth that I couldn't have anticipated🌳 This month we wrap up the RegenIntel Fellowship. I'm immensely grateful to our guides Chad Frischmann Mamta Mehra PhD Ryan F Allard Alessandra Vega and many instructor-practitioners for sharing abundantly from their wisdom. And to my amazing 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀 for the opportunity to learn and collaborate with climate leaders and entrepreneurs from vastly different sectors and geographies - you inspire me✨ What a powerful experience coming together to activate new ways of addressing the world's most urgent, and interconnected, issues: 🌱 From regenerative design and land use, to responsible carbon and nature markets 🪸 To ocean restoration, agroecology, Indigenous science, and circular cities ⚡To solutions for decolonizing energy, future-proofing infrastructure, and regenerating finance + supply chains to serve all of life 🍽️ To unlocking the regenerative power of food, art, music, and manufactured “stuff” 🌍 And importantly: to advocating, communicating, and guiding others with the psychology of #systemschange All to foster a #planetpositive society where humans and more-than-humans can equally thrive. I'm excited for what's next on the journey. In the meantime you can find me rooting with some very grounded, visionary Fellows from Cohort 5 💛 𝘗𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘬 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘰𝘩 𝘙𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘖𝘭𝘺𝘮𝘱𝘪𝘤 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘬, 𝘞𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘰𝘯.

This #WorldFoodDay, we are reminded that food is far more than what ends up on our plates. It is culture, history, labor, land, water, climate, and community all intertwined in complex systems that shape life on Earth. Yet today, 30–40% of food produced is never eaten, contributing roughly 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions, while over 800 million people go hungry every day. These numbers reveal both urgency and possibility: the challenge isn’t a lack of solutions, but the need to align our systems, knowledge, and actions with what is already known to work. As Charles Michel, Food educator, experience designer and artist reminds us: “Food Literacy Can Change the World.” Food literacy means seeing food as a system, from soil to table, farm to policy, harvest to culture and recognizing that every decision cascades across landscapes, oceans, and communities. Through Drawdown, we identified solutions that are viable, scalable, and regenerative and of the top 20 strategies to enact change, 8 are rooted in food systems from reducing waste and adopting plant-rich diets to regenerative agriculture and silvopasture. Implemented together, these solutions create cascading benefits: healthier soils, restored ecosystems, thriving communities, and more equitable food systems.   At RegenIntel we are taking the next step, accelerating implementation across culture, policy, markets, and education to cultivate interconnected, regenerative impacts that ripple through communities, ecosystems, and food systems And as these impacts unfold in our daily lives, we might ask: if our plates told the story of a thriving planet, what would that story taste like, and how might it nourish what is emerging? :)
