Founded in 2009, Rent the Runway is disrupting the trillion-dollar fashion industry and changing the way women get dressed through the Closet in the Cloud, the world’s first and largest shared designer closet. RTR’s mission has remained the same since its founding: powering women to feel their best every day. Through RTR, customers can subscribe, rent items a-la-carte and shop resale from hundreds of designer brands. The Closet in the Cloud offers a wide assortment of millions of items for every occasion, from evening wear and accessories to ready-to-wear, workwear, denim, casual, maternity, outerwear, blouses, knitwear, loungewear, jewelry, handbags, activewear and ski wear. RTR has built a two-sided discovery engine, which connects deeply engaged customers and differentiated brand partners on a powerful platform built around its brand, data, logistics and technology. Under CEO and Co-Founder Jennifer Hyman’s leadership, RTR has been named to CNBC’s “Disruptor 50” five times in ten years, and has been placed on Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies list four times, while Hyman herself has been named to the “TIME 100: Most Influential People in the World" and as one of People Magazine’s “Women Changing the World."

  • Welcome to Work Tip Wednesday with Jeanelle Teves, CCO at Bugaboo and founder of Work Lunch. Every Wednesday, she gets ready and talks about career, leadership and a piece of advice she's learned working with some of the world's biggest brands. Today we’re talking about how to make a strong first impression, for example at a networking event or dinner. Here are 3 micro tips which make a big difference: 1. Enter with purpose and open energy. When you walk into the room, think approachable. Make eye contact, lead with a warm smile, and please put your phone away. People pick up on your energy before you even speak, so set the tone with confidence and open presence. 2. Start with curiosity, not small talk. I like the question “What’s something you’re working on?” It’s a thoughtful question that opens the door to more real, engaging conversations, and it helps you stand out. Other topics I like are "How do you know (the host)?" or "What's your affiliation with (organization)?" 3. Close the loop. If you had a great conversation, don’t let it end there. Ask if you can stay in touch, connect on socials, and follow up the next day with a quick note. Strong impressions last when you follow through. • Welcome to Work Tip Wednesday with Jeanelle Teves, CCO at Bugaboo and founder of Work Lunch. Every Wednesday, she gets ready and talks about career, leadership and a piece of advice she's learned working with some of the world's biggest brands. Today's topic: 3 Tips to Ace a Job Interview! As someone who has conducted a lot of job interviews, here are my best tips to stand out. 1. Know the Company Go beyond the website. Read press releases, check their socials, look at competitors. When you walk in, you want to show that you understand not just what they do, but where they’re going. 2. Practice Your Story Most interviews boil down to this: who you are, what you’ve done, and why you fit. Have 2-3 backpocket stories ready that show impact: times you solved a problem and created results. 3. Prepare Questions that Signal Value Don’t just ask about culture or next steps. Ask: ‘What does success look like in the first 90 days?’ or ‘What challenges are you hoping this role will solve?’ This is also a two-way street, their answers will tell you if this is an organization you want to be a part of. Every Wednesday, she gets ready and talks about career, leadership, and a piece of advice she's learned working with some of the world's biggest brands. Today's topic: How to up-level your communication at work. Your best ideas fade when you can't communicate them clearly. Two moves that work: 1. Be concise: decisions happen faster when you get to the point. Repeat the intention of the meeting. Say things like "Our goal here is to..." or "Based on the objective of the meeting, my input is XYZ." 2. Own your nonverbal presence: how you sit, what do you wear, how you pay attention. It speaks before you do. You can find more presentation tips in her masterclass series, Work Lunch, a career growth suite for ambitious corporate professionals. Wearing all Rent The Runway! • Welcome to “Commute With,” Rent the Runway's spotlight series on members who are at the top of their professional game. CEOs, Founders, and Executives take host Abby Orons door-to-door on the most sacred part of their day—their commute to the office. In this episode, we ride with Jeanelle Teves, Chief Commercial Officer at Bugaboo, as she travels from the Upper West Side to her office in Flatiron. Not every task is created equal. 4. Be locked in with your customer. You should always be aware of what they’re telling you.
