One of my favorite aspects of life at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) is how we all wear multiple hats. Alongside client work, Alexandra Doll, Anıl Rızaoğlu, and I also serve as GenAI Nodes for the NYC office, focused on driving internal adoption and education of AI tools. In that spirit, we recently hosted our first NYC hackathon exploring the world of vibe coding with Replit. Nearly 50 BCGers, from Associates to Senior Partners, joined us at Hudson Yards in person, taking two hours out of their Friday afternoon to build web apps with AI. Most participants had no coding experience and had never used AI tools for software development, yet everyone was able to prototype an app that solved a problem in their daily life. A few examples from the session: - A chore and expense splitting app for roommates - A wine cellar and ranking app - A localized surf forecast app This was an important first step in expanding AI fluency beyond the now-familiar chatbot interface. I've seen how these tools are reshaping how we work with clients (e.g., more rapid prototyping, CX concept testing, enhanced consumer insights, etc.), and believe increasing internal exposure among our non-technical colleagues is critical to staying ahead of the curve. I'd encourage any team to consider hosting a low-stakes hackathon like we did. It’s a great way to surface everyday inefficiencies and solve them with highly customized software at a minimal cost. You'd be amazed by how straightforward it is to build. A huge thank you to Aman Mathur, Asif B., and Kody Low from the Replit team for making this event a success. And to the NYC office leadership for continued support on the AI front. Next up: Agentic workflows. Will report back soon!

Most workflow tools and “agent builders” are glorified CRUD sequences forcing you to click through endless nodes and parameters to get the simplest stuff done. Replit's Automation Stack changes that. Automation requests that used to break my flow or get delayed indefinitely now just get handed off to Agent in a few sentences. Here’s how: A teammate asked if I could make a pre-meeting research bot for some custom Demo objects in HubSpot. Using Replit’s environment and Connectors, I had the core flow built in no time: - HubSpot connector pulling in Contact + Company activities - Professional profile data from Clay - Web research from Exa - Slack connection tagging the meeting owner It worked beautifully. Then came that familiar moment every builder knows: the quiet dread of the inevitable “Could you also…” requests that will soon pile up. In old workflow tools, even something as simple as printing different time zones in a message meant another round of reading API docs, clicking around nodes, and debugging manually. But with Replit Agent on high autonomy, that entire process, from debugging to self-testing to merging, all gets collapsed into a few sentences and just a few minutes of work. Give it a try with your next workflow.

Continuing adventures with Replit #AI agent. We are building an app to send data to a Viz Engine, which is great for testing how a scene responds to data being sent at different frequencies. We have developed two versions: one for cloud and one for on-prem. Additionally, Mauricio Angel has built a data streamer to simulate camera tracking data to an engine. We are also learning how to use the plan capability to optimize credits and build time, thanks Nick Co for the help !

We recently hosted a Vibe Coding Lounge at Bloomberg Beta's Going to Work Conference - an interactive space that brought together labor leaders, business executives, and investors to explore how AI can transform the future of work. We were honored to also present our ideas to Maryland Governor Wes Moore, sharing how accessible AI tools can help workers, educators, and communities thrive in a changing economy. The conversations we sparked included: 💡 Human expertise guiding AI - using rapid prototyping to ensure automations preserve skill and experience of human experts. 🧠 AI-powered training - helping workers in cyclical industries adapt and re-skill faster. 🌍 Accessibility in tech education - lowering barriers and expanding entrepreneurship opportunities. 🤝 Purpose-built community mobilization - building software solutions that drive community collaboration and problem-solving. The energy and curiosity were incredible - proof that vibe coding can connect industries, empower people, and inspire a more inclusive future of work 🚀
